Why are Fat Albert and the star of Fox's Littlest groom still in this race? They have not won anything. They have gotten trounced in every state. This is a joke that they are still in it.

in the case of sharpton: it's not so much a valid campaign for the office, it's more of a high profiled publicity tour for himself
who else would campaign on the death of timothy stansbury, it's a hot-button issue/cause better served on a local level, it doesn't really sell on a national level ...?
it keeps him in the public eye, and in the papers ....

Sharpton is an asshole for doing that. Why don't you preach to the black community to clean up their buildings and their streets so cops don't have to patrol stairways and rooftops. Why not condemn ( I think he was black) the guy who sodomized and threw a girl off the roof a couple weeks earlier. Reverend Al is a dusgusting human piece of Tawana Brawley's fake feces.
I thought I also heard the longer sharpton stays in the race, the more money he makes for his office. He stays in the best hotels, flies first class everywhere he goes. Ok what is the dwarf from the Wizard of Oz still doing there.

As to Kuchinick, beats me.
Sharpton stays in probably for the publicity, of course. But, in the early debates he really surprised me [and many others] by bringing some very uncomfortable issues, namely race and minority ones, and drilling the Dem candidates on their past record.
Agreed, the tawana brawley hoax still makes my blood boil. I would hope, however, there is a Sharpton - type for each party, someone who literally has nothing to lose, so they can ask the Qs others are afriad to.
Maybe Nader is that person.

They're probably hanging in there just to get some speaking time at the Democratic convention.

Isn't Kucinich a Natural Law Party canidate just looking for the Democratic Nominee? I don't think this guy'll stop until the day after election day when he finds out he won't be president in 2005.

Maybe I don't want a racist white hating cop hating lowlife scumbag and a midget to speak. Why should that piece of shit have a voice to spewq hiw disgusting hate for cops. He ruined that guys life from the Tawana Brawley Hoax and never paid for it. He does not deserve a voice to spread his bullshit and hatred.
Kucinich was just the worst of all the candidates and no one took him seriously.

Because it's America and if you're a natural-born American above the age of 35, you can run for the office of president, no matter how remote the chances of you winning.
Why should I care if either run, or how long they stay in, or what they're running for? It's ultimately the choice of the people, and I didn't think for a second they'd be that choice. Why are you dwelling on them if they're so obviouslly inconsequential?
You'd do yourself a greater service if you paid attention to candidates on either side who actually have a chance of winning, as opposed to impotently raging against these two schmucks.

That is what I am saying. Why do Sharpton and Kucinich deserve equal time to Edwards and Kerry. They don't. Does every single person in the democratic party get a right to speak. No. This debate and race is about Kerry and Edwards only. These 2 do not belong there. Let them have a serious debate and keep the circus atmosphere that these 2 will bring out of it. I want to hear Kerry and Edwards discuss real issues that affect this country. Everyone else quit and these 2 were the worst of all the candidates running.

They don't anywhere, except in the debates.
If you're so convinced they're wrong, why are you worried by what they have to say? The polls clearly indicate that nobody's listening.
Look at it this way...if they bring up valid points (And every so often they do) in the debates, the "real" candidates will be forced to address things they probably won't typically discuss. If they bring up asinine points, they'll only bury themselves. It's win-win.

I know what Sharpton will bring up with the debate in New York. White Cops and the Uncle Tom Black cops shooting and killing innocent black people for no reason whatsoever. Does that sound interesting to listen to this trash from this racist asshole. Kucinich I really don't care about. Sharpton only cares about news cameras.

Ya know something, I might vote for Kucinich if he were to run under another party in November. He's basically a Nader-like candidate. Sharpton isn't nearly as bad as you make him out to be Teenweek. He's a scumbag like most lawyers are scumbags. Plain and simple most lawyers would say the same things he does. Edwards most likely did some very scumbaggish things in his time as a lawyer, but no one cares.
Sharpton has the right to run just as much as any third party candidate does. The way of thinking that you are using will keep politics in this country two dimensional and completely useless to most Americans. If there are no third (maybe even second) voices in this country, then strictly Democratic vs. Republicans politics will continue forever. Look at Germany's political system and you get a system that provides a voice to almost all people in parliament, whereas our system has people scared to pick a third party candidate because they'd rather the lesser of two evils to seeing the "other party" win.

Has he actually made this a main focus in his presidential campaign? I ask this honestly because I haven't paying attention to him, something you might want to try.
You complain the man just wants attention...and you keep talking about him, even though he's a fringe candidate at best.
Who's winning here?

The debate is in New York. What do you think he will talk about. In 18 states he got 16 delegates. No he does not deserve a voice because it is obvious no one wants to hear his racist rhetoric.

I actually heard Sharpton say the other day that someone's civil rights was violated. If I was a black man, I would be outraged that this was the man that 'represented' me. I mean after all that's what his campaign is all about. I hate to quote Stern, but he's not running for the Presidency of the US, he's running for president of black people. Now that Jesse is laying low, the slot is open. Goodbye Rainbow Coalition, hello National Action Network.

So let him think what he wants. It's not like he's the ACTUAL "black leader." If some black people don't think he is (And plenty couldn't give a dman about Al Sharpton), what do you want them to do?
Again, you pat attention to him and talk about him in a public forum, he wins. He's got the attention and his name out there. If you hate him SO much, shut up about him. Look at this board. This is a public forum, and nobody was talking abut him before you brought it up.
Think about it.

obviously Sharpton and Kucinich will not be president. But to say that they ruined the debate is quite stupid. If it weren't for them, Kerry and Edwards wouldn't have stopped their lovefest. They would still be saying how much they think the other is such a good guy.
