Ron & Fez back to Florida??

Today in Tampa, Florida WXTB/98ROCK fired their #1 in the market rated morning show host, Bubba The Love Sponge. Rumors are now flying around down here in sunny FLA that Ron & Fez will be joining up with Ron (Diaz) and Billy The Phone Freak (currently heard on WTBT/THUNDER 103.5 in Tampa) for a Ron & Ron reunion show.

Has anyone else heard these rumors????

Similar rumors have flown around since at least mid-year of 2003. In the studio with Paul O at the end of the "Caddyshack" show last year, Ron did note that there had been some negotiations to get the old show back together, but that ultimately he decided not to do it.

check out 98rock.com and you will see that all of bubba's stuff is off the site and they now have no morning show. 98rock is the #1 rated rock station is the tampa market and bubba was the #1 rated morning show in the market. the only other option i see is to syndicate howard stern, but i doubt that will ever happen in tampa. if they come back i hope they syndicate the show to nyc and d.c. as well!!

i agree with you that bubba's show sucked and wasn't verry funny....just goes to show that good ratings don't alway equal good humor!

i have not heard exactly why he was fired but speculation is his recent FCC fines didn't help.

Ron mentioned on the air last week that he got an email from someone about getting back together. Ron decided that he had moved on. Perhaps he was talking about Ron Diaz.

Ronnie has expressed many times that he'd never hook up with Ron Diaz again, I can't recall the episodes by date, but acouple of times in the New York days he's explained his dislike for Ron Diaz.

According to the Thunder 103.5 web site, on Monday, the Bob and Tom show will be taking over the morning slot that Ron Diaz previously had. (http://www.thunder1035.com/main.html) I don't know whether Diaz is getting moved to another time slot or is getting cancelled. Take that for what it is worth.

Ron has mentioned on the air when they were on the bubble at WNEW before they we sure they were going to WJFK that he talked seriously with people in Florida about going back.

Ron Diaz will be co-hosting a new radio program on 620 WDAE 'The Sports Animal' in Tampa, FL starting Monday. Check out 620wdae.com for details. This pretty much puts to rest the rumors of a Ron & Ron reunion show.....but hey, 98ROCK WXTB in Tampa still needs a morning show to replace fat ass Bubba. Anyone know if Ron & Fez have any interest in returning to morning radio? I'm in Florida so I can't listen to Ron & Fez but I would love to hear what everyone out there thinks.
