I was working in the city today. As I was returning to my car, I encountered a strangle site. A canister of liquid nitrogen on the corner of 39th & Madison Ave. The canister was about 5 feet tall, with a rubber hose coming out of it, that hose was duct taped to the street, running into a manhole. The top of the canister was frosted over, so I assume it was full.
My problem here is the canister wasn't secured to the street at all, not onle could a car knock it over, a person probably could too. And no one seemed to notice this thing. what the hell was it doing there? what's going on under the street?

I bet a plumber was using it to freeze a leaking oil pipe so they could cut it. Its strangle that they didnt have some kind of barricade around it.

that's the stranglest thing i've ever heard of. It would be strangle if it was underground mutants that were terrorizing NYC. Strangle indeed.

When I used to work on Wall Street I used to see that almost once per week. It was so cool because the top was frozen. Well being the inquisitive scientist I am, I decided to touch it and got a bad ass burn on my hand. My boss and all the people we were with laughed there asses off. The hose was always ran into the ground though. I always wanted to know what they were doing.

There all over the place in the city. I don't know what the fuck they're used for but the first time I saw it, a big metal canister in the middle of the stree with no stickers or warning tape around it or nothing, I said, "Shouldn't this be surrounded by cops and firemen." I know it doesn't sound funny now, but at the time it was hilarious. It's the way I tell 'em.
