i'm a former newyork listener and recently started listening to the show again. few questions...
1. why did billy staples leave the show?
2. what's the beef between mikey D and wonderboy? what started it? they never had a problem with each other in NY, why now?

The entire staff was cut loose last summer. That's why Billy left. Wonderboy was later hired back as producer. As to the battle between Mikey and Wonderboy, it hasn't been any one event, but a serious of small episodes since Wonderboy returned. (Mikey isn't back on the staff. Other than the Hard Rock show and three visits down to DC, Mikey generally calls in to the show)

That may be a small part of the issue, but there has been an on going tiff between Mikey D and Wonderboy and things have been steadily growing worse and worse over the past few months. From Mikey D getting put on Ronnie's ignore list to Wonderboy insulting Mikey D's wife and kid. So on St. Pat's day there will be another Big Ass Night of fights with the St. Patricks Day Brawl.
