St. Patrick's Day 2004

Today March 1st marks the beginning of St. Patricks Day season, what does everyone plan to do Wednesday the 17th?

1. Nevada Smiths - 3rd Ave (11th & 12th). - I usually have my first pint here at 9:00 or 10am to watch a Champions League match or an International friendly. I don't care what or who I watch as long as its soccer, it helps set the mood for the rest of the day.

2. Paddy Reilly's - 2nd Ave (corner 29th) - Used to go there every year they're getting a little greedy though. $10 cover and $6.00 a pint)

3. O'neil's Irish Bar - 3rd Ave (45th & 46th) - Always have a good time, except when its empty and the bartenders try to get me to make a donation to the "good fight")

4. Patrick Kavanagh's - 3rd Ave. - Its in the area

5. Peculiar Pub - Bleeker St. - NYU College bar lots of different beers

6. McSorely's Ale House - E 7th St. - Spend about 30 minutes here just to order and drink my two beers and then get the hell out

I usually spend most of my time at the Irish bars along 2nd and 3rd Ave between 30th and 50th

I've never watched the parade, don't care.

I plan on watching the Rockaway St. Patricks Day Parade on March 6, then going to a bunch of bars and getting highly inebriated. Other than that, nothing, with the Holiday being on a Wednesday and all.

Im not into the hop from one bar to another thing. I like going to one cool place, getting a good seat and drinking all damn day. Spent last years St. Patricks day at Red Rock (shocker). Few of my good friends were there and the Irish Alkey, Silera and Swiss Miss were there as well.

Think thats what I'll be doing again this year.

Amen to that. I stopped going to bars on St. Patrick's day because since I was usually the biggest guy in the place, some drunk with beer muscles would invariably pick a fight with me. It got to be so annoying that I just gave up on going out to crowded clubs and bars on "Amateur Night".
