I couldn't agree more. It's shameful that Ron and Fez have to sacrifice an hour to this nonsense.

It's shameful
Shameful? That's a little much. The 7-8 show was actually part of "The Sports Junkies"when they were on 7-11pm, and it seemed pretty seemless - like "Redskin Radio" was part of "The Junkies."
When the Junks went to WHFS and R&F came over, that's when Larry Michael took over.
Maybe now that Larry is taking over in the broadcast booth, maybe they will need someone(s) to take over, and Ron and Fez can adopt it, nurse it, and make it part of their show. Other than that, it should be buried on weekends.

well if you wanna get technical, the junkies took over when
the Greaseman left for the classic rock station. the junx
never paid tribute to the grease. ron and fez should have
the monday 7pm slot for themselves.
have redskins radio come on before stern.
if skins fans like them so much, it shouldnt be any problem
to wake up at
5 am to hear their beloved show.

Huh?
This wasn't about anyone paying tribute to anyone else. It's about a way to find a way to work within the crappy system. Since they aren't going to move "Redskin Radio" from 7-8 on Mondays, then why not give it to Ron and Fez. They can talk football as well (if not better) than most of the people on the air.
And it's hardly a throw-back to the Junks, since they only did that show for 2-3 months before going to WHFS.
Obviously, in a perfect world, R&F wouldn't be saddled with 2 shifts during the day, and expect to come in Mondays for 2 horus after that hack, Larry Michaels. However, WJFK is not a perfect world, and it never will be.

WJFK won't have Larry Michael to kick around any more. From DCRTV (http://www.dcrtv.com)
Larry Michael To Join Redskins Organization - 3/23 - A DCRTV exclusive. Larry Michael (left), the radio voice of the Redskins on WJFK-FM, will quit his Westwood One sports radio job. As of Friday. And become an employee of the Redskins. Our source tells us: "Talk about being bought and paid for. There goes any sense of objectivity." DCRTV hears that Michael is getting "big bucks" from Skins owner Dan Snyder. Michael took over doing Redskins radio play-by-play last season, replacing veteran booth man Frank Herzog. Infinity's WJFK-FM and Westwood One are owned by Viacom. A big question remains - will Michael continue to be paired with Sonny Jurgenson and Sam Huff, who are contract players with the Redskins? Stay tuned.....

Oh man, a Nixon pull...who says Mikeyboy isn't funny?
All I gotta say is that "Redskins Radio" is like a masterpiece compared to that monstrosity about Maryland basketball, and I fucking HATE the Redskins.

I could have sworn that the boys said RS radio would be moving to another time slot which wouldn't interfere with the show ? When I turned on my , erm...ah..when I started listening, I heard that sports talk and was just like, Blleeech. Here's another great reason it'd be great for them to go to XM. Besides, if you think about it, out of 4 hours, they only get 2 hours on air time, which is a real rip off to me. It used to be the same for OnA too. But now that they're on XM, their actual on air time is very close to 4 hours.
So technically speaking, when that dumb sports show is on, we're only getting 1 hour of RnF right ?

Not exactly -- A 4 hour show ends up being around 2 and 1/2 hours of show, and a 3 hour is a little under 2 hours of show. Redskins Radio did move to another time slot after R&F were syndicated to Baltimore. Now the sports shows that are on are the "Man to Man with Gary Williams" and the occasional Joe Gibbs Redskins show which is completely separate from Redskins Radio with Larry Michael (uh, sure).
However you slice it, though, any programming pre-empting R&F sucks.

Hmm. Well, I got that 2 hour figure (under actually) from some shows I have (NG) that clock in at : *goes to check*
Well, the longest running show minus commercials, is 1:53 and shortest is 1:49 between Tuesday and Friday. Each Monday show falls between 1:25 amd 1:28. IMO, that's some weak ass stuff. However, in their defense, they really make up for it with what they provide in that short amount of time, further proving what geniuses they are. Man, if they went to XM, I'd have a case of RnF overload ! Imagine almost 4 straight hours of pissing yourself laughing ?

Respectfully, you're wrong. I have a bunch of shows myself, so I'm also able to check. I think your reading the numbers wrong -- for example, where you are seeing 1:53 (one hour and fifty 3 minutes), the time is actual 153 minuters (2 hours and 33 minutes)

A little follow up from dcrtv (http://www.dcrtv.com)
JFK To Say Adios To Skins? - 3/24 - DCRTV has long been reporting that Infinity-owned WJFK-FM may not renew its deal to carry the Redskins when it expires in 2006. Now, Jim Williams, in the DC Examiner, tells us that Infinity has made it clear that it is no longer going to pay large rights fees to professional sports teams. That means the contract, worth a reported $10 million, Infinity has with the Redskins may not get renewed. Williams says the Skins could jump to Clear Channel or to Bonneville. Just yesterday, DCRTV reported that the radio voice of the Redskins, Larry Michael, is leaving his gig at Infinity sister Westwood One, to be employed directly by the Redskins. Paving the way for his move to a non-Infinity station? Stay tuned.....
