As a kid, I had no clue what this show was about..it seemed confusing. I grew to love it in the later years and now I would consider it one of the best shows ever on TV.

Cool show, awesome homage in The Simpsons a few years back. Shame that the guy who directed Tomb RAider is direting the feature film version

"Nothing can kill The Grimace"

Incredible fucking show. Gotta love the midget butler.

The best, however, is seeing Patrick McGoohan have irrational fits of rage. He'll just be having a civil conversation with someone, then he'll turn over a table or throw a clock or something.

The Simpsons captured it perfectly.

I'm putting money that Number Six is the angriest fictional character ever.

I think the angriest guy on TV was Major Don West on "Lost In Space". He wanted to fag bash Dr. Smith in every episode..."Smith"!!!!!!

Let me see if I can remember what he says at the begining.

"I will not be indexed, filed, pushed, shoved, briefed, debriefed, or numbered."

Am I close?

Now here's the ultimate Prisoner question:
In the opening sequence, when No 2 says "I am No2"
McGoohan says "Who is No 1?"
No 2 then says "You are number 6."

Now was he being prophetic as in "You are, number 6." or just being evasive. It's all on the emphisis.

I am not a number, I am a free man!

HaHaHaHaHa

Still don't understand the program.

But Pat McGoohan could sure do "angry".
Wasn't he born in Long Island?

ok, I love the series, and I get it... all except that last episode... It annoys me not to know who number 1 really was.

The Prisoner totally kicked ass!!! Only 17 episodes were made. There's tons of great appreciation sites on the Internet and some great.

One year I also booked a vacation to the resort that they used as The Village.

In the last episode Number 6's London flat's door closes the automatically same way the doors closed in The Village's apartment.

Look closely at the number on the door.

Lots of good psychology in the show. Stuff about de-humanizing people and brain washing them. They always try to find Number 6's breaking point and he doesn't have one.

No matter how futile escape is, he always tries.

We never find out if Number 6 is really secret agent Jonathan Drake from Danger Man or Secret Agent Man as it was called in the US.

that's true. but in an interview a few years back, McGoohan stated that he liked to think of the prisoner as a sequel to secret agent man, but officially it's not.

That is about as accurate as Ron calling the BeeGees Australian on air last night.
(They were born on the Isle of Man, UK then lived in Manchester)

I did some research:

Patrick Joseph McGoohan was born at 4:31 a.m. on March 19th, 1928 in Astoria, Long Island, New York.

Not that it matter's he is still a "paddy".

queens, brooklyn, whatever, it's not Long Island.

I find it more interesting that he did two shows named "the Prisoner"

YOU ARE NUMBER 6!

Speaking of numbers. That jacket he wore was quite the little "number".Anyone know where I can find one?
Easter will be here soon,I figure it's either a "Prisoner" jacket or that ol' Robert Hall red crested blazer....again!
