This article is just what I said it was. We had certain people and sections of agencies looking for him, but it was a literal fraction of what we COULD have been doing, even with the conflict in Iraq. There's a lot of pissed off people in certain intelligence corridors over how relatively low a priority this has gotten for the last year+, and rightfully so.

i don't understand why this gets thrown around too often as being an election year conspiracy. i mean once he gets captured theres a whole system of underlings to take the reins, but as long as his captured doesn't get to the press, the underlings still think hes there to give orders, and as far as they know, he's just not giving any.
The secret of a capture of him gives the ability to interrogate for all pertinent details of the goings on and what ever else, without having to worry about someone moving in, taking over and handing out retalitory orders.
The capture of Saddam Hussein and media coverage of it acts as a way of trying to disperse the anti US forces that were acting supposedly by his orders and to bring him back to power, where as the Osama capture will act as nothing more as the capture of the leader of a gang that still has various members all over just looking for reason or order to do something.
Without the capture of the rest of the gang, the capture of the leader will act as nothing more than reason to concentrate efforts of terror to avenge him.
