...your vote later? is it that big of a deal in the gay community? it's not like you knocked someone up and have to do the honorable thing.

it really seems like a pandering of the gay vote.

I'l just give you a couple examples of why gay couples would like to be married. If one partner is in an accident and is incapictated, the other partner isn't even legally allowed to see them, let alone make medical decisions. If a gay couple has a child, the one not related to the child cannot even pick the chold up at school. If gay marriage or civil unions were enacted, employers would be required to extend benefits to the both the employee and their gay spouse. I could go on and on.

If any politician could be accused of pandering on this issue it would be President Bush. Spineless Kerry wants none of it.
