She didnt get convicted of insider trading. She wasn't even charged with it, simply because she wasnt an "insider" in imclone. Sam Waksal, the CEO - a male at last check - is currently doing 7 years for that crime. Martha's in jail essentially for lying to federal investigators and conspiring to cover up her actions. Ironically, considering that she wasnt charged with insider trading and that the stock fraud cases were thrown out, she was convicted of lying about actions that the government did not deem criminal.
