Thinking about coming up to NY on Monday...

I've never been to NY, but people are telling me all be all lost there because it is so confusing. Im from the DC area. Is there places I can park? is the subway easy to use? i dunno.... If anyone from NY has any suggestions, i'd really appriciate it.

if your coming up and stayin in a hotel, take the train systems. there are plenty of places to park, and overnight it will run ya about 30-40 bucks

There are lots of garages to park in, but it will cost you. As for free parking, the further uptown you go, the easier time you'll have finding a spot. If you're in the 90s, you shouldn't have to much trouble.

The subway is more complicated than the metro, but as long as you can read a map, you'll be fine.

take an amtrack up to newark. take the newark path into the city, youll be at around 33rd and 7th by MSG. after that everything is right there

if your not stayin over night, drive. the train costs more and takes longer, so it would be a waste.
as far as restaurants, it really depends on how much you wanna spend, around 10 bucks for a meal, there are Sbarro's around.

if you want real nice, go to the old homestead. BANGIN STEAKS, but itll cost

Why not take Amtrak all the way into the city? The difference in cost of traveling to NY as opposed to traveling to Newark is negligible, and you don't have to switch trains.

i just figured it stops at newark penn and you just take the path in.
