Mayor Giuliani became a national hero with his leadership during 9/11. Bush proved that "he could lead our country during times of tragedy" during the same period. I actually even heard a TV commentator say that there were always questions concerning the leadership Mayor Bloomberg could bring NY until he "stepped up and guided us" through the blackout last year. Seems to me that all you gotta do is (A) be in office when tragedy happens (B) walk the streets and stand in front of a camera and say "don't worry, all of our experts are working tirelessly to find what caused this problem. We will find the cause of it and correct it. God bless the USA" and blablam.. you are now a leader. I just don't buy it. Would there ever be anyone elected to office that would get in front of the cameras and say "Lordy, lord, we don't know what's happening, everyone be afraid, run for the hills". The only thing that seemed memorable and spontaneous was Bush's first speech in NY after 9/11 when he pulled the line "don't worry, I hear you, and the guys that did this will soon hear us". Do tragedies really test leadership or do they just turn the current elected official into a hero??

I just like the term "blablam." I think I'm going to start working it into my everyday vocabulary.
Blablam! It's done.

Just don't tell Emeril-Dice about it, or he'll be all "Blablam! Now I got banana juice in your souffle!"

I happened to be down at the WTC on 9/11 and I had seen Guiliani walking around down there. He did a little more than just pose for picture opportunities. He was genuinely concerned for our safety and several times, disregarded his own. He was down there for days and I heard that several times he had to be physically taken away so that he could get some sleep. I will never forget his selfless behaviour and will always regard Guiliani as one of our greatest mayors ever!!!
