BARBERTON - A Barberton man accused of assaulting his girlfriend with a wrestling move called ``the back breaker'' is in the Summit County Jail.
Jermaine Johnson appeared in court Friday after he turned himself in this week while facing an arrest warrant for felonious assault. Barberton Judge Michael McNulty set Johnson's bond at $25,000 cash and ordered him to have no contact with his girlfriend.
Investigators said the move that Johnson used broke a vertebra in the woman's back. Johnson is accused of spitting and flicking ashes on the woman as she lay on the floor for hours, finally offering to call her a cab if she could walk down the stairs.
Detectives said the woman took the cab to an area hospital, and Johnson showed up the next day to get his change from the cab fare.
