So I have to take this Depolupron shot now, which is supposed to STOP my "." for the next sixth months. It has very PLEASANT side effects like I wake up in the middle of the night naked and shivering but soaked in sweat and random hot flashes throughout the day. At least I haven't suffered from vaginal dryness, depression, or lack of sexual appetitie (in fact quite the opposite).

I got my first shot the day after I got out of the hospital, but a week later I still got my "."-- which sent me right back into the hospital because I was so violently sick and in pain. It ended on Tuesday. All of a sudden, I am bleeding again today. A lot. I don't know if this blood is the second coming of my "." or if I was, er, hurt somehow during a sexual encounter last night.

My question is, has anyone had this shot, and if so, do you know if this is something that occurs normally within the fist month of your shot.

"Lupron stops ovulation - after the first month of use, you will not get pregnant while on Lupron.

Lupron stops menstrual periods - while you may experience some irregular bleeding for the first month or two, this should eventually stop. After discontinuing Lupron, menstrual periods should resume within 6 weeks. "

The quoted information above came from:
Lupron info (http://www.fertilitymrm.com/depolupron.htm)

My wife took Lupron during 2 IVF cycles (the last round was in December). She did experience occasional spotting, however, it's not uncommon for there to be more intense bleeding.

Note: if the bleeding is prolonged (ie: more than a day), I strongly recommend that you call your medical professional just to let them know how you are responding to the medication.

FYI - the second cycle was successful and we are 16 weeks along and crusing for a due date of August 28.

You have truly made me breathe easier. Ed and I thought he hurt my pvary that was reconstructed. Thank you so much for the information! Did your wife experience pain even though she wasn't bleeding? I heard that happens to a lot of women with endometriosis on this shot.

Glad, I could help. Just make sure that you monitor the amount of bleeding (along with the color) so that you can tell your Doctor if symptoms persist or increase.

Patricia did experience pain including some cramping. She took the shots in smaller and more numerous doses though, so the pain/side effects were somewhat spread out.

Additionally, she didn't have the endometriosis to worry about. She's 38, so age was more of a factor when dealing with the manipulation of hormones and the female cycle.

She did about 6-8 weeks of lupron, but towards the last 2 weeks she then went on to either Repronex or Gonal (2 diff. cycles) which actually messed her up more than the lupron.

She took 2 shots a day of the lupron (subcutaneous) and then I would give her the Repronex or Gonal usually intramuscularly. After the trigger shot, I then gave her a nightly shot of Progesteren in oil which was intramuscular and usually required two hands pushing down on the plunger to force the oil through the syringe. Fun stuff.

I can help you there too. I have 2 colonoscopies, an upper GI, and a Barium Endoscopy under my belt (so to speak).

Fire away - just please be careful where you aim. ;)

Guys have it so easy.

Well, I wouldn't go that far.

I've had a trip to the Emergency room and 2 years of consultations trying to pinpoint what my ":" issues are. I've learned a lot about what other people have, just not what I have.

I go to see another Gastrointerologist next week. Of course, this issue isn't specific to just men, but it's certainly no thrill ride.

Well, the bleeding has already stopped so my "." is gone for now.

With Ed's obsession with his ":" and my problems with my "." we are quite the fucked up couple.

Ever have a conversation wtih your boyfriend about how he thinks he broke your ovaries while you are wrapped in a Sponge Bob blanket sitting on the toilet at 2am? It would have been perfect if he went down on me right then and there, but hey-- that's how this trouble started off in the first place...

Clothes are restricting. Besides, the last thing you want to have on your body during a hot flash is clothing.

Ed didn't earn his red wings yet-- his penis brought it on though.

It was actually a practical joke. I filled my mouth with catsup and spit it inside her pussy. I do it all the time to freak her out.

It's payback for the time she was chillin with Snoogans and I walked in and her mouth was full of mayonaisse.

Thanks Katylina, Monsterone, you make the shittiest sigs.

Ain't that funny... I won't go down on you, but I would give head to Sean and take it in the ass any old day.

And head wasn't the only thing I was giving out that night. Why do you think I was really bleeding?

I don't know about Lupron, but my wife was on DepoProvera when we started dating and didn't come off it until we decided to have kids. And she had only one or two periods before we conceived. Then she nursed for about 6 months. So basically, the first 5 years we were together were almost completely free of periods.

Boy, was that false advertising.

I don't really have a point.
