i've seen some boxing movies in the past where a fighter's manager tells them to abstain from sex before a fight because it may drain some of his energy for the fight...

being there is protein involved i'm thinking the body is lower on protein and the process of recreating protein actually makes the body 'weaker' for lack of a better word 'until' that protein is restored...
