Don't leave the theme park area, because Orlando otherwise is a trailor park, cousinfucking kinda place. Plus, look out for the love bugs. Yuck.

Don't drink the water......oh you're going to Disney World, my bat, thought you were going to Mexico.

Couple of questions:
1. How long are you staying?
2. Do you plan on visiting any other tourist sites?
3. Any kids?

I go to Orlando every August. I'll check the pamphlets that I pick up everytime I go there.

It shouldn't be so bad. March is like the off-season isn't it?

Like Jester said:
don't eat in the restaurants there (over-priced food and service)

Also, bring small umbrella....you never know it might rain when you go. Trust me, it's no fun being stuck in one of the souveneir shops waiting for the rain to stop (true especially if you bring kids).

For souveners, you can get them at many of the "Disney/Universal/SeaWorld souveners here" stores and Wal-mart unless it's like a DISNEY themed snowglobe or with-in that type of memorabilia (better off getting it at Disney)- but you can buy that stuff at any Disney retail store here at the mall in Jersey.

DON'T forget your CAMERA and Film if it's not digital.
Don't develope you pictures there.
Check for any type of discounts/coupons when getting tickets (usually at the tourist booths around town or airport).
DON'T purchase a time-share. It's not worth the money no matter what they say.
I think they charge $2.50-$3.50 for a REGULAR bottle of water and bottle of soda. (Dam those crooks!)
DO buy the MickeyMouse hat. It ain't Mickey if you don't got the EARS.

They got some Gentleman clubs on Orange Blossom Trail and an adult video store to boot.

I've been to Disney World more time then I can count. Try going to Universal Studios too-- it's so much fun there. That's where Ed and I are heading in June. I also suggest searching online for discount coupons for Orlando attractions and restaurants before going. I did that on my last trip, and we saved soooo much money.

Or is the hotel made out of play-doh?

I would say check out JimHillMedia.com or pick up one of those unofficial guides in a book store to get a good feel for the things that are cool that Disney doesn't tell you about.

I've been accepted as an intern at Disney World for Fall'05.

First off, MAKE SURE YOU BRING A CAMERA. They will easily jack you for $20 for a disposable.

Aerosmith's Rockin Roller Coaster is the best ride there. I went to Disney for my Senior Trip last spring and I must've gone on that ride 8 times in a single day

Fastpass, Fastpass, Fastpass.

If you want to go on the Tower of Terror, get there early, get a fastpass, and kill an hour until your time has come. I would say that is the biggest wait at Disney.

Getting a picture taken on a ride is very cool, but if you're going with a group, buy one and split it amongst each other. In my group, we ended up splitting a picture of the Tower of Terror like 12 ways and it cost like $1.50 each. Even if the people you ride with are total strangers, don't be shy to strike a deal.

It's kind of hard to find, but there's a Coca Cola station at Epcot shaped like an igloo or some ice thing. If you go down there, there are free samples of sodas from around the world. It's a good place to stop if it gets to be as humid as it was when I went.

If you flash the camera on a ride, the picture doesn't show up on the screen at the end. If you complain, they will send you to the front of the ride's line. Good times.

Make sure you get a book bag or something when you are on the rides. I was on Thunder Mountain the last night I was there and my camera fell out of my pocket. I didn't even realize it until the end of the night. Secure all possessions!

Have fun! I never went to Disney until I was 18 and it was the best time of my life. Let all your inhibitions go and just enjoy it.

I miss Disney now...
Like I said in my last post, I got accepted as an intern making $6 an hour at Disney. They take part out for taxes and part out for rent. However, it is the experience of a lifetime. I'm in ROTC and your fall sophomore semester is important but not vital for field training the following summer. What do you think I should do?

9 days nice!!! You must of had some BIG refund.

Breakfast- Shoney's not bad for the price.

Dinner Themed Shows: Arabian Knights, Pirate Adventure Show, and Medival Times (but we have one in Jersey). The Pirate Show is good plus you kids with love that stuff. You can even go to a Fortune Teller to get a reading. Stop by the store to get an eye patch, hat or sword.

I can't remember which has the 2-3 day pass (Disney or Universal). You might want to check that out.

Disney's Magic Kingdom- get an autograph book. Sure it's not the "REAL" characters, but your kids don't care about that stuff. Don't miss the PARADE. You'll see most of the characters and a live performance. (You may even see the next Britney!). It's a Small World and Pirates of the Caribbean (when I see it now as an adult, I'm not as fascinated with it when I was younger but it's still worth checking out.). Like they said before Mr. Toad's Wild ride is now The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

Disney's Epcot Center- where else can you go around the World in 1 day and see the community of tomorrow! At each "Country" there is a children's activity table for you kids to color, stamp and draw depending on the activity at the time. SKIP the Canada (360 degrees flick) but do take pictures at the Totem Poles. The Viking Ride and Montezuma rides were okay (rides into history). At the U.S.A. don't miss the show they have (and your kids will learn about history). The Underground aquruim (the Living Seas) is cool. Crash Test Dummies ride and the "Honey I shrunk the Audience" show is pretty neat.

Universal Studios- Terminator (good show), Jaws (okay but sometimes bad acting but you got to love fire!), Back to the Future (sit in the front seats- otherwise your head will keep hitting the back of the car with all the movement going on) and GhostBusters (an okay show). I'm not sure if they closed down the King Kong ride. The Twister Experience was fun. Men In Black (your kids will want to go back and see if they can beat there score) and Spiderman (3-D glasses). Sorry again if I'm getting Parks mixed up. What ever you do, DON'T try to WIN the prizes at the arcade- it's a RIP-OFF.

Islands of Adventure- lots of rides (if you like coasters) and many things to do. You're kids might like the Jurassic Park area and the Cartoon section. Also the live show is pretty good. I don't remember the name- but dude steals treasure, falls in love with girl, fights bad guys and a happy ending (not that kind of happy ending!) and a funny show to boot. The only problem you might experience at the park is the height requirement for the rides. Hope there is another adult there to babysit.

I haven't been to SeaWorld, the HolyLand Experience or Splendid China yet. So I can't help you there.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

***EDIT

ALSO check out the Flea Markets. They have some good stuff there for cheap. Tere are several so check 2-3 out. Plus they also have souvenirs of Florida there too.

Mercado Mall- if it's still around SUCKS. There's nothing there anymore.

If you have access to a stove or microwave, DO grocery shopping. Eating out for 9 days can get expensive.

If driving by car, stop at the Florida WELCOME AREA. You get free Orange Juice and pick up coupons and phamplets of area sites.

The day you get to FL, go to Wal-mart and buy;

A couple cases of bottled water
cheap plastic ponchos
assorted snack foods
cheap Mickey toys

Water in the parks are a total rip-off
It could pour rain at a moments notice. Keep the Mickey toys hidden in a bag somewhere, at some point the kids will be screaming for a $50 souvineer, that's when you break into your stash.

Try and put a day aside for Sea World. The have some great rides (ie Kraaken), the kids always love the shows, and trying to pet the dolphins.

and most importantly, they have a beer garden with FREE BEER!!! Sea World is owned by Anheiser Busch.

Oh yeah. At these Theme Parks (Disney and Universal). After you finish watching a show or ride, the EXIT usually brings you pass that special attraction's souvenor shop. There's "NO WAY" escaping it.

And remember if you buy stuff there, you're going to be lugging whatever you bought with you throughout the PARK. So try to buy stuff later on in the day if you can. Especially of you WIN one of those big STUFF ANIMALS at one of the booths.
