The towell going in was unfortunate. Mikey may well have had a strategy going because he didn't fight at all the first round, but fought back in the second. But WB fought well; he was aggressive and looked stronger than I would have ever guessed. WB earned his win. But Mikey, who didn't even know who his corner man was, does have a case that he might have had a strategy going and the corner man shouldn't have thrown in the towell. I saw WB working the bag on Friday and he looked like one of those boxing hand puppets you see at football games. This was a whole other person in the ring though. As usual, I can't say 100% that what I saw tonight was real, even though I was back stage all night and talked to both of the guys after the fight. WB deserves props for the win, and I think Mikey D deserves the benefit of the doubt for the fight stoppage. It was very entertaining to be there.

uhhh, just to keep things on track, "work" means when it's a real fight (according to Ron and I won't dispute it); when I was coming up (in the boys' choir) the terms were "shoot" and "show". "Show " is pretty much everything in professional wrestling since the 1960's, before that, you would occasionally get either a "shoot" (i.e. real) match or a show. Modern so-called "shootfighting" is a whole different show. <--- that's a play on words.

I think it would have looked better if it was said that Helen can't be hear because of an emergency of whatever. But it didn't come off that way. It came off as Mikey didn't bring Helen because he didn't want to.

I understand Mikeyboy that the show involves real people etc but things have to be taken seriously. I know you may have a different perspective because you were there but to us who wasn't it felt like we got a big dump taken on us. We could have also been told that "we not going to bring this up on the air but something happened to helen and just leave it at that"

Sorry, I don't buy it. This was a serious event. Even tough it is a comedy show you have to take things seriously otherwise Ron and Fez will have no credibility. Don't confuse what I'm saying. I don't mean serious as in when the principal calls you into the office.

Best fight of the night although I didn't get to listen to the El Jefe/J Dubs fight because of technical difficulties.

Have you guys noticed everytime WB wins no one pays up? He wins the hockey shootout and NO Prince albert, he wins the break in your car challenge and NO X3, now he smacks Mikey around like a B and guess what???? No Helen.
Her not being there should have been brought up before the fight and a new punishment should have been decided upon.

Wow! Was the show cool! I was there and took tons of pictures if you guys wanna put em online. R&F stayed for a long time after the show went off the air. Awesome! Mikey D was a damn pussy! He looked like he knew the towel was gonna be thrown. I heard he had a car accident on the way there.. HAHA! Anywho... kick ass show

I used to do TKD and a little American kickboxing.

Now it's strictly Mixed Martial Arts, just like the UFC. So a bit of every style, but mostly boxing, muay thai kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and of course wrestling.

They did mention it early on in the show. They also mentioned that Mikey D was so embarrased and upset that he wanted to drive home last night, and that he stayed in the green room for the rest of the time.

I know I didn't see him out on the floor and I saw every other fighter for the post show partying.

Not to get off topic. But I took some akido and wasn't too impressed, I didn't see its street usefulness. Been taking Muay Thai and Brazilian Ju-jitsu for a couple years. The Muay Thai is bad ass. Especially when your allowed to use your elbows, not like on UFC, Pride or K-1.

Sorry Fluff, I was pretty busy helping the boys and Wonderboy out.

It was great seeing some of the regulars, Bonedaddy, Mikeyboy, Garywise, Lazlo, DLK and his lovely wife, Perry & Cherry, Captain Clown, Courtney, Tommy Bats, Fluff, Winnie Cooper, and many others.

We had some new people show up to this event which was nice JeffDwight, Johnny Cash (I hope your car is going to get you back home), Jeff and Kathleen, Joe and his band of merry men and women in their Celtic garb, Victor, and there were others who unfortunately I don't remember your names at this time. Everyone had a good time who showed up.

Hopefully the next event will have a bigger turnout. So let's get everyone out there next time. MOJO that means you. (just kidding buddy)

Jafter - I would have loved to have been there, and as I told you it would be a last second decision. This week has just been a cluster fuck for me - there was an article in the Washington Post on Tuesday about a federal judge making a ruling that directly effects where I'm contracting and working and I've had to put in extra hours, and I have no access to the net at work anymore, and there are deadlines...blah...blah...blah...long story short, I would have loved to have been there. Sounded like fun, except for that last match.

My one take on that: of all the NY people, I have always liked Mikey D. Something about him I can't explain. He always seemed prepared to bring whatever he could to the table. They could segue from having a great conversation with him, and could contribute really funny stories, to breaking his balls, then back to funny conversations. He often came across as a peer.

I wasn't rooting for him Wednesday (I wasn't rooting for anyone), I just wanted a good fight. To hear him talk, it sounded like it was going to be great, but then it started and he did nothing?! Ok...I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he was saving up for a flurry in the second and third rounds, and even when the corner guy threw in the towel I gave him the benefit of a doubt. But, at the end, when he said that Helen wasn't there, and he said it with the same level of arrogance and defiance that he had been talking smack leading up that, that just pissed me off. What a dick move. Especially with the cussing at the audience.

If she wasn't there because of health issues, that should have been stated right the fuck up front, and a back-up agrreable to WB should have been ironed out - just fucking classless, and I could care less if I ever hear him on the show again. He came all this way down here for the privledge of participating in a WJFK "employee" fight, and he proved by not taking the fight seriously why he doesn't deserve to be an employee.

Wherever we end up, I think I'll fine tune my drinking choices. I started with a Martini then cruised along on rum and cokes, guinness (in honor of Tall James), bud, Bacardi Limon, and a tequila shot. Not a wise idea when trying to navigate downtown DC streets that are circular to begin with.

The people I went with were dissapointed with the lack of Irish beverages. So we left right after the fight and drank Smithwicks the rest of the night in Old Town.

They did, and unlike the Buds they weren't plastic bottles!

All Bud products were $5, any other beer was $8. My Martini was $10, couldn't tell you what the rum and cokes were other than easy to drink down.

I'm sure you made the more economical choice.

BTW - Ron pointed out that he couldn't figure out why so many folks were concerned about the neighborhood. I wasn't concerned at all, then I went through a metal detector and was frisked. At that point I raised an eyebrow.

Then again, at least I got a little bit of action at the beginning.
