I sure ain't no elitist, WrestlingFan, and I sure ain't no fancy word pronunciator!! I plan out the consenants and vowells!! I organize my "t's" and "th's"!! I speak CAREFULLY and SLOWLY because that's the proper way and because I'm also half-retarded!

Oh this is totally wrong and it has to do with spelling, not pronunication, but Mark Twain, I *think* came up with something for people who obsessed on spelling errors:
"It is a Sad Man who can only find One Way to spell a Word."
That's way off I'm sure.
Tall James, you know quotes and stuff! Step up!

Shit I can't find one of my Book Of Lists [remember those books?] but one of them had a list of some of the most mis-pronounced words, I think some were:
Data
Gratis
Caribbean [is that spelled right?]
ugh, gotta find that.
I have a brit friend who pronounces the first "r" in February, and it sounds so cool, and so...correct. And it's sounds like only three syllables; ugh, how to describe it phoneticlly:
FEB-Rer-Ree I guess. you'd have to hear it.

I say that. I think it's a New England thing, or at least so I've been told. But I mean, aunt is spelled aunt to be pronounced aunt, right? Otherwise wouldn't you have an ant??

Yeah but TooCute you also dont :
" coont " when you want to " count "
cou-nt = cou-pon
An unless you are Canadian you dont say :
" aboot " when you wanna say " a-bou-t "
Lets face it, that " ou " comination is inconsistent to say the least.

what about "houston"? if you're in texas it's HEW-STON, if you're in the village, it's HOUSE-TON. it's not exactly what we've been talking about, but it's weird.

was at a party and some drunk who knew nothing og things South of the Border picked up a bottle of Tequila's and seriously said: "Joe's Cuervo? What kind of name is that?"
The folks who overheard him? As Triumph would say; 'They were not Kind...'
Also heard "Batch" a couple of times in the Music Stores Sheet Music sections. Instead of, well, if you don't know...

You also have the regional pronunciations.
In the north its :
" pee-can " " New Or-leens "
In the south its :
" peck-an " " New Or-lins "
For " chocolate " do you say :
" chalk-let " or " "chock-let "

"Joe's Cuervo" is the funniest thing I've heard or seen since the last ten minutes of Old School.
Hey, bartender.. I'd like a margarita.. but don't use just any tequila.. get me some of that Joe's Cuervo.. only top shelf for me, mister.

Puma is technically pronounced pYOUma, according to the dictonary, but only one person I know of pronounces it that way.
My brother in law says "ax" instead of ASK.

It's "ant" (aunt). I HATE hearing people say "ahhhhhnt". We always used "ant" and somehow my sister has started using "ahhhnt" and cheering for the Patriots. Someone needs to tell her we are much closer to NY then Boston.
Also, it's "Koopon" (coupon). "Cewpon makes me want to kill.
