In the spring of 2002 (shortly after Big Ass Night of Fights II) Joe Poo and Billy Staples were put on an extended vacation (suspension) for disciplinary reasons. Poo did not agree with the measures taken so when they were scheduled to return Billy was back and Joe choose to leave the show permanently. Who was right and who was wrong is only known by the people involved.

the impression i got was that the boys (especially fez) was less than thrilled with poo's effort and ability to reach his potential ....
then again it was two years ago, and it's a bit moot

Billy was put on an extended vacation because of not going to cover the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" induction ceremony for the show. As for Joe Poo, "Badorties" pretty much hit the nail on the head two posts up.

Joe was great and a better announcer than mikey. Joe, to me, seemed like the 3rd host of the show.

Everybody should know what they say about Bayonne, " If it smells like Bayonne, leave it alone!"
A dead Frenchman has many good qualities, many things to recommend him; many attractions--even innocencies. Why cannot we have more of these?

Joe was the closest thing to that, he was (while he was there) the third mic talent.

I know there was time when Ron legitmately reemed him out late in his run, and I"m sure that contributed.
Does anyone know which day he reemed out Billy this past summer? Or just went off on him in a very real way?

Its funny, I've been listening to the old 2001 shows, and have been thinking about how great Joe Poo was. Of all the people associated with the show since R&F have been on in New York and D.C., he has been the only one to be a legitimate on-air talent. He could have had a career in radio if he wanted it. And yet somehow Wonder Boy still has a job.

A few favorite poo-isms...
"[knock knock knock] HellooOOOOooo?"
Asking about an Al Dukes wet-dream
"it doesn't count if your dad forced it out with his tongue"
Asking about Al Dukes on his way to school
"Did your dad make you sip his D?'
And of course.....
"I eat my own Poooooo"

I don't think I ever laughed harder at anything on the show outside of Joe Poo's "Thundercats" song.

You can't really give that to Joe. That was 42nd Delay with an uncanny Joe Poo impersonation.
