What is your favorite Kevin Smith movie? You can even rank them if you want. With the release of Jersey Girl and some people thinking that he has lost his touch, how do you rank his movies?

I would rank them
Dogma
Clerks
Chasing Amy
Jay and Silent Bob
Mallrats
Jersey Girl * have not seen yet can not judge.
I think Smith's writing was best Dogma with Clerks right behind.

I like Jafter's list and agree the writing in Dogma is probably his best. But I think Clerks overall is a much better film. Dogma was written about the same time as Clerks (Actually before Clerks!)
Jay and Silent Bob is his best looking film I think (Cinematography)
Clerks - Original, his only independant film.
Dogma - Beautiful, naked, big-titted women just don't fall out of the sky, you know.
Chasing Amy - What's a "Nubian"?
Jay and Silent Bob - Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season!
Mallrats - Only Kevin Smith movie with nudity
Jersey Girl - horrible for Kevin Smith, Average Chick Flic.

Mallrats
Clerks
Dogma
Clerks the cartoon
Chasing Amy
Jay and silent Bob Strike Back.

The rest of the movie would be mostly filled with Lobo wiping out villages of people, yelling at hospital patients and head-butting mimes.

Mike,
I gotta ask, how the hell did you pull that one off?
And I'm surprised about the amount of support for Dogma as his best.
My list:
Chasing Amy - just a perfect representation of a real relationship
Clerks - brilliant dialogue quoted 10 years later
Dogma - solid movie
Mallrats - big budget, fun dialogue, but lesser than it's small budget brother
JASBSB - his Magnolia
Still haven't seen Jersey Girl.

They got rid of Vulgar the Clown as the Viewaskew Logo. Now it's animated Jay and Bob (I think in the same style as the animated series)

I used to love Dogma, until recently when I saw it and it seemed dated and overly "precious." I need to see them all again.

"Chasing Amy," all the way.
Not coincidentally, it's the one film out of the so-called "Jersey Trilogy" that has the least Jay & Silent Bob. Hmmm, imagine that.
After that it's a toss-up between "Clerks" and "Dogma." I think "Dogma" falls behind slightly because if he had played it more "seriously" he would have knocked it out of the park. I don't mean dump the humor...but all the faux-action, to me, really detracted from a message that hit really close to home.

I think I'm the only one that hated Dogma.
