CableVision and YES

I read today that anyone who has cablevision cable will now receive the YES yankee network without having to subscibe to digital cable. If anyone remembers, last year they were in a big lawsuit. Well it seems like they lost. The cable bill will increase 95 cents and we will also be getting MSG and Fox Sports. Personally I am very excited. I was pissed last year i did not get the yankees. If i was not a sports fan, i may be pissed by this. what does everyone else think.

i though cablevision carried YES last year, I didn't know it was exclusive to digital cable. thank god i have DirecTV and i didn't have to worry about it at all.

i remember when i was living on li and had to go to a bar to watch yankees games (shedding a sarcastic tear), instead of the comfort of your own home, my buddy would always say, "if i get pulled over for drunk driving, i'm sueing the yes network."

apparently, he wasn't the only one with this idea, since another guy got pulled over and did the same stunt.

the ironic thing is, when i went upstate, i got it for free. so upstate and prisoners were able to watch yankees games, and the rest of of were forced to drink beers in a bar. bastards.

I think it's a disgrace that we ever had to PAY EXTRA to watch LOCAL SPORTS. These are OUR fucking teams! This shit should be standard!!! If we want to watch every NBA or every MLB game nationwide, I can understand having to pay extra. But the fact that you need to sign up to be able to watch your HOME TEAMS play is sickening.

gotten to the point where i don't care about Pro sports. other than they can go &*#@ each other, owners and players...

fans can join in because they like a good ass &*#@ing too... my colon is just starting to lose it's elasticity from many years of being a fan

Last year you had to pay estra to get YES. 2 bucks a month. This year its in the basic package, so they raised that package 95 cents, and if you dont want or watch it, your still paying for it. Those are the real facts.

When I called this year to get YES, before the court ruling, the custom service rep told me the only way to get yes was digital cable. I did not know if they were feeding me a line of shit or what. I did not have the patience to check it out. I just moved into the area, coming from a town where I had comcast. I was thinking about getting digital cable until i heard this. I do not know when the rates are going up and we will have YES.
