I got the IUD in September and had the WORST stabbing pains in my ovaries. I knew the first couple of months would be "rough" as my body got used to this "thing." I didn't go to the doctor for two weeks. Then I just couldn't take it. Luckily, it subsided, but she scolded me for not coming to her sooner.

Your body is probably just getting used to the hormones, but you should let your doctor know asap. No reason to be in pain if you don't have to be.

Birth control pills gave me alot of pain at first too!!! When my wife first started taking them, she didnt want me touching her at all...but I solved that problem....thank God for Quaaludes!!!!!

My wife has similar problems like you describe and went on them for the same reason. After everything normalizes, youll be amazed how much better your periods are and the mood problems will go away. They will come with such regularity, youll be able to tell a year in advance when youll get them if you count out the days. I made a calendar for her for 2 years in adavance once. Its nice when you will be able to tell when you get them. Her period was exactly 4 days long and we could plan out vacations around them and stuff. Id tell your doctor just in case, but I remember her going through a few weeks of odd feelings and pain in the beginning too. It went away.

It's true.

I knew my period would start On the fourth Wednesday of the month between 2-3pm.

And I was on birth control for the longest time just so I'd GET my period. I remember completely throwing off my roommate's cycle until she was in sync with mine.

I have endometriosis and just had surgery on my ovaries. They cut them in half and remove all of the cysts. Then, they had to reconstruct them back together and wrap them up. I hear ya about ovary pains baby!

try a heating pad and switch between tylenol and motrin (they are 2 different types of meds so you can take them at the same time for pain and fevers) but definitely call your doctor. eventually with the pill you will have little to no pain during your time and only feel a pinch when your ovary releases the egg. that means you have about 5 mins to cork it.

Just make sure you check with your physician before taking any other pills or doing anything that could threaten your health. If you are prescribed to this medication, take that. But don't mix it with other stuff, like aspirin or tylenol, because you don't know if that could have a serious negative affect on your health.

Don't take depo unless you have to... it makes you psychotic (I was on it for four years... proof enough) and it makes your hair fall out. Also like I posted talk to your doctor about the pain and if you need to you can switch between the meds. I have tons of stuff about depo that would scare the squarepants off of you.

depo is awful

i gained 30 lbs, got blinding headaches, dizzy spells and bled on and off the first 4 months. Plus you can't just stop it if you get bad side effects... its in your system for 3 months.

you can stop your period with the pill if you skip the green ones that you're supposed to take when you get your period and go right to the next pack.

Hmm-- I lost five pounds on it so far. I also get hot flashes and night sweats, but that doesn't bother me anymore.

Maybe it's because I constantly walk and excercise.

Oh wait-- and I am also on depo-lupron. I guess there is a difference between the two shots. After six months of this, they are weaning me off and putting me on birth control. I think every person is different on how they react to the depo. You see, I love not having my "." because "." = such intense sickness and pain etc. from the endometriosis. I prefer not to have it at all.
