Yeah, this does veer into "way too inside" even for me, the unofficial WJFK historian, but here you go...what little I know about Lewtard...

About 12 or 13 years ago he was a regular kid caller into Don and Mike. Since he said he wanted to get into radio, they would occasionally bring him in under the name of "Crank The Baby D.J." (his real name, I believe, is "Craig"). He was about 10 or 11 at the time.

He came across as a nice, funny kid who was mildly obsessed, collected everything D&M, and I suppose the gimmick ran it's course (as most things, including regular callers do with Don and Mike), because D&M began to get annoyed. I think they might have shafted him on some swag he pestered them for.

Fast forward to late 1990s, and he's working at WJFK - almost nothing is mentioned about this earlier incarnation. He's spastic and annoying. Don, for no reason whatsoever, decides his on air name is "Lewis."

For a brief stint of time he is their guy who does crazy stuff. One of his classic bits was heckling Jerry Seinfeld during his big HBO special a few years ago, which they later edited out of the VHS and DVD release. Don and Mike still play the original tape whenever Seinfeld is in the news.

However, he then began to get more and more annoying on the air (and off?), and Don redubbed him "Lewtard."

Then something happened and he was fired - I don't know what. He claimed on R&F that he was asked to do something that he couldn't or wouldn't do, because of a family commitment, but it sounded like that there was more to it - that it was more than likely a laundry list of things.

Don has banned him from the show, and has promised to make a $5000 donation to a charity if he knowingly lets him back on the air again.

He has tried to get through numerous times. I don't know if he was a regular caller into the Sports Junkies when they were on WJFK, but it wouldn't surprise me. He is now an obsessive radio-phile caller into both Ron and Fez, and The Hideout, and tries to use various names to get through - for awhile, before he was outed, he was the "Keanu Reeves Guy." He also supposedly IM's them a lot.

Last week, Ron kept busting his various aliases on the air ("Caesar" was a popular one), and they decided to actually have a real conversation with the guy - which they learned is almost impossible, because he doesn't want to actually talk - which is funny since he wants to get into radio.

I've never met, e-mailed, talked, IMed the guy. I have seen him post on another DC radio message board, and I would be stunned if he didn't frequent this board, although I don't know what his name could be (unless it's "zappa"). When he's in a comfortable setting, he actually comes across as a pretty decent, funny guy, much like he did when he was a kid.

BTW - aside from the fact that I don't call the show, and I don't use IM, the big difference between me and Lewtard...I'm not Asian.

1. Lewis the Retard was banned from the show because he refused to do a radio stunt (I think in NY) which would have made him one day late for the Coleman family reunion in Arkansas.

2. He was never a regular caller to the Sports Junkies on WJFK, although he does call various shows around the country (art bell, etc.).

3. He did want to get into radio. What no one mentioned last week was that Don pulled a string or two and got him a Saturday night show on WINX AM1600 in Rockville, MD. Differences with management led to a parting of the ways...I've only heard Louis's version of the events, but his version made it sound like he quit. Sadly, Craig had a shot that many would like to have: a suck radio show at a suck radio station.

4. The show when his father calls in to bust on Don and Mike for picking on him is gold, Jerry, gold! and occasionally makes it onto best-of.
