I agree in an sense but something just makes me cringe. I mean cool, right. I only talk about my faith with my family and friends and when I feel it is appropriate. They totally respect that and don't hassle me for it. I let them make up their own decision about things.

I hold my beliefs and faith very sacred and personal and the last thing I would want to do is scare someone away while trying to convey a message.

One thing I have learned since I was very young was the one bible verse that said "Judge not lest ye be judged". When it gets to that point and there is an overwhelming sense of fingerpointing and "YOU WILL BURN" type of speak, as good of an intention that is being made it makes you holier than thou and in the long run it can wind up turning more people away through the scare tactic of the whole deal.

let me tell you a little story... i have a cousin, who is jewish. she married a man who is not jewish. when they had their first kid, they made the decision to raise him jewish. the husband's family told these new parents that their newborn son was going to hell because he wasn't going to be baptised. this was coming from his fucking grandparents.

the point? no one should have a problem with anyone else because of a difference in their beliefs. but that also means that both sides have to be equally tolerant. i couldn't care any less if kirk cameron wants to be the most devout religious zealot ever. but i have no patience for anyone telling me that i'm going to hell because i don't agree with them. they can all go to hell as far as i'm concerned.
