Shecky Jen appearing at Wiseacres 4/14

Crazy Jen is going to try her comedy act tomorrow night at Wiseacres in Tysons Corner.

The show is from 8pm to 10pm and there is no cover. If you are in the area come out and wish our girl some luck. I am not sure what time she is going on, but I know she would appreciate the support.

Good job, Jen you did a great job. You got some laughs, no one heckled you, and you made it through your material without screwing up your material.

Sounded pretty good for a first timer, Jen! Like Ronny said, you started pretty strong - the white trash joke was actually laugh-out-loudish!

I also think your hook could be the weird way you say "Yeaaah" whenever a joke bombs, or you want to segue. I think 4 or 5 times in a two minute routine could be funny (the Letterman school of comedy: repetition!) The actual line isn't funny, but the fact that you keep coming back to it could be.

I have a good friend I want to introduce you to sometime who might be able to give you some pointers, etc. Not sure when or how, because he's very busy, but maybe some Friday night we can meet at JFK and I can drag him along.

I was one of the comics last night at Wiseacres. Unfortunately I went to take a leak when she got on. When we did roll call they made a few cracks about her being from a radio show. One guy said "She better not be running tape" (of other acts) She looks like she'd be wild in the rack but I don't know how funny she is. She should come back. It's a great place to start out. If I knew she was from RnF I woulda said hello. I don't get to listen much but do like the show. I got in my truck to head home around 10:15 and they were just running the tail end of her tape. So I missed it again.-Mike
