View Full Version : fuck you walmart - atm/debit cards

so recently these cocksuckers made it so you can't use your debit card when you cashout and are forced to use your atm card (which hits you with a fee).
and no whiney hippie shit in this thread about how they take over areas and force small businesses out. this is more for directing wrath at this bullshit policy. looks like i'm back to being a kmart shopper.

I don't understand this policy either.
Wal-mart makes its money from folks who are typically on a tighter budget (and a lot of them are cash only folk). So why put a financial speedbump in front of your prime market?
I just switched from Chevy Chase Bank to Bank of America because CCB charged me everytime I used it as a debit card at my grocery store. If it went through as a credit card - no charge.
I got tired of different businesses (like Walmart) forcing me how to use the card and thus costing me money.
Bank of America doesn't charge me either way.
Phui on Walmart and the like.

Can you write checks out over there? If so, then just go there and lazily write checks out for the purchase and as your doing that, just give a nervous smile and just say," i wouldn't have to do this if i could have just used a debit card."

yes. but if you use it as an atm card, you get hit with a fee(like you would if you used it at anther terminal besides your bank)
if you use it as a debit card, it acts like a credit card, but draws money straight from your account.

Only Target is cleaner, friendlier, higher priced in some areas, and better quality. Other than that they are identical.

Just the reverse around here. I haven't found a friendly Walmart in NC or VA. Scowling greeters and apathetic cashiers.

MY Debit/ATM card has a Visa Logo on it, I use it like a visa card no matter where I use it. No charge. I thought most banks offered Visa Check Cards? I can't remember the last ATM/Debit card I had that wasn't a visa check card...

The Target and Wal*Mart near me (in VA) both have very friendly people working there.
The undercover security people at Target aren't that nice (they don't wear the usual red shirts, they have tan ones)

Walmarts by me only have lost children and empty shelves.
Even though I think that Target is sorta like a Nazi organization, its better than most other retail stores

just another way 'big business' fucks the little guy to keep the stock price/profits up and the executive bonuses flowing...
you think many of these executives shop in Wal-Mart? i don't think so
Exxon profited 21 billion last year yet the price of gas is at it's highest level... HOW MUCH FUCKING PROFIT DO THEY NEED!!!!!!

Now thats not fair. No profit is ENOUGH profit. Who's to say when someone makes enough money? I hate that. Because someone is rich, they dont deserve to get richer?
Exxon took advantage of the current business climate. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I am with tool on this one. Yea they made a huge profit, but I bet the people that are holding their stock are not complaining. Also, its not like Exxon or Mobile gas is so much more than BP Amaco or Shell. Buisness is Buisness.

Yes, but not off the backs of the poor working class who's working 2 jobs, and 19 hours a day to financially keep his head above water. Unfortunately, that's how the riches ones do it these days, simply because they can.
and yeah, I do hate the game, so let's change the guy making the rules, huh?

Wal-Mart blows, if only because they only carry edited CD's, and only certain movies and musical artists that they deem "acceptable."
That, and they're usually filthy and full of old people. If I have to suffer through that, at leasts end me to Costco.

i bought the new MPB there, and there was no editing done on the cd. They do offer edited cds, in case someone wants to be a pussy. i don't think i've ever seen a bit of "acceptable"ness in their variety of CDs, their cd variety sucks because they're not that interested in being a CD store.
The only real forced editing in their cd collection, is that they will put stickers on the plastic wrapper over some of the more controversial pictures.

Eh, I'm behind the times. I remember they used to only carry "clean" CD's.

another little tidbit is Exxon still owes 6.5 billion for the Exxon Valdez spill 'many' years ago but they got it locked up in courts with their high priced lawyers. so the local people 'fisherman and shop owners and the eco system' took an ass fucking and Exxon still sits on it's billions of dollars . But i'll tell ya something 'in the meantime' there's a bunch of judges and lawyers getting a nice fucking piece...
in the past 4 years people have been ripped off for trillions of dollars by companies such as Merrill Lynch, Bank Of America, Tyco, Enron, and others. Fund Managers who draw 7 figure salaries sat by as trillions of dollars were lost which basically showed they ain't worth a shit...
in my job at Dow Jones the top executives just gave themselves several million in bonus while we've been without a contract for a year and a half and they want us to take cuts in medical and dental benefits and forego a raise for 2003.
my job is just a small picture of the people at the bottom getting squeezed because of the greed at the top.
not sure what i can do about it but i certainly don't have to walk around with fucking blinders on and not say anything about it...
FUCK THEM!

How in any way does this make Walmart the bad guy? Your bank charges the fee, not them.
P.S. I do not mean to support them in anyway. I hate Walmart.

I'm not sure if your aware of the recent news with Walmart accidentally double and even tripple billing people with debit cards. I'm sure its a temporary thing with them, until they figure out how the goof-up happened. It was in the news like 2 weeks ago.

I'm with you. This is just another glaring example of how reality differs heavily from what the corporate media wants us to believe is going on.

You guys have got to stop worrying about money. It's only good for one thing and that's spending. I make shit, I'm enlisted in the military, but I don't care, should I die, I'm going to the grave knowing that Visa , Mastercard, etc, will never get everything that I used them for. As long as you can pay the minimum as well as your other bills, take care of your family (if you have one), don't worry about it. Using your credit increases your credit. Fuck it, why live without? Granted, I don't live to excess, but I know I'll always have a morgage, a car payment, have to buy gas , have utilities, but if there is a video game I want or DVD I'll get it used, or if I want to go on vaction I'll do it. Money is one of the biggest worries of many people, I just get rid of that worry, I know I won't be rich and I'll have to work for the rest of my life , so I accept debt............but I concur, fuck you Wal-Mart!

Dude, you really need to worry about your money. Dont bank on social security being there when your old. Bank it, save it anyway you can, because if you dont and theres nothing, youll be one of those homeless old guys you see on the street, or else a burden to your surviving kin.
