Valet Parking attendants

I was in A.C. last week and watched a valet driving a Hummer narrowly miss hitting another car. From what my friend tells me (who works in a hotel in another city), they've been having trouble with some valets (like scratching vehicles while parking).

Do you trust them parking your car??? Or if you leave something of value in your vehicle it will be there later???

To avoid a valet, I'd park a block away and hoof it. I know people who have their cars dammaged by them, dings and dents and stuff. They never take responsibility either.

I judge whether to use the valet based upon the type of establishement I'm visiting.

If it's a high end hotel, you should have more recourse if something were to happen to your vehicle. At the very least, they won't push back as much.

If it's a location where the toniest part of your visit is the valet parking, consider parking it yourself and walking.

Ritz Carlton yes. Joe's Roadhouse and BBQ, no.
