Spiders never gave me the creeps but I think I might jump if I saw one of these eight legged freaks.

Yea, I can see how it may be held close to the camera lens. I believe that might be a soldier's sleeve in the right hand side, and his fingers might be holding it up just above the top of the picture. It's the soldier's leg in the background that creates the illusion.
Here I was thinking Damnation Alley!

"Its a Bug Planet!"
I always thought that movie just kicked ass; in a comic-book put on-screen. The DVD shows a lot on the computer animation of the bugs, and holy Fuck is it Gory. Plus it has Doogie.
And Denise Richards.
And a kinda-sorta 'socialist-military' thingy going where Enlisting guarantees Citizenship and stuff. Worked on a few levels.
Mostly; it's the bugs though. If you hate Bugs, check out the fuckers in Starship Troopers. Yow.

You better if you gonna have any clue to what is happening in this movie next week, Sat. April 24th:
Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (Action, 10 p.m. ET)
Premiere. Staying with the low-budget monster schlock thing, Action (one of the Starz networks) tonight presents "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation," a sequel to the 1997 theatrical hit "Starship Troopers," before its direct-to-DVD release in June. "ST2" picks up with the first left off, with soldiers of the future doing battle against giant arachnid warrior insects on a distant planet. (Why the tiny little humans didn't simply drop great big bombs on these oversized insects back in the first "ST" remains a mystery.) Richard Burgi, who played one of the more unforgettable creeps in the first season of "24," stars. "ST" hotties Casper Van Dien and Denise Richards are nowhere to be found this time around.

That thing in the picture looks pretty fucking big to me. And it EATS its own kind.
Spiders (or spider-like creatures) that are that big + run at least 10 mph = several horrific nightmares for me.

This is right off the web site NewYorkDragons80 posted
Camel spiders can traverse desert sand at speeds up to 25 MPH, making screaming noises as they run.
Camel spiders eat the stomachs of camels, hence the name "camel spider."
Camel spiders are venomous, and their venom contains a powerful anesthetic that numbs their victims (thus allowing them to gnaw away at living, immobilized animals without being noticed). U.S. soldiers were said to have been attacked by camel spiders at night but remained completely unaware of their plight until they awakened in the morning to find chunks of their flesh missing.
To find chunks of their flesh missing...god...

I got a write-in vote:
The Thing by John Carpenter with Kurt Russell. At one point the 'thing' transforms from a guys severed head into a spider. The classic line is, after seeing ahuman head sprout eight legs, big googly eyes and scramble off, the one guy turns and just says matter of factly...
'youve got to be fucking kidding me...'
and then they blowtorch it.
God I love the Glory Days of John Carpenter

I don't know if Windowsill is just trying to freak everyone out (job well done old friend) or just getting freaked out himself by what he reads and panicking. Regardless, here is the explanation that preceeded those "facts" about camel spiders:
Camel spiders are the subject of a variety of legendary claims, many of them familiar to Americans because they were spread by U.S. servicemen who served in the Persian Gulf War in 1991, and re-spread at the beginning of the Iraq War in 2003:

A little bit of both my friend.
And their little legendary story doesnt change the fact that those are some scary fuckers there...and that only tells you how they were spread. Where did the military get these things to begin with? I bet theyre what was in that spaceship in area 51... ;)

They're not that big, they're not that fast, they don't "scream," and they don't eat the bellies of camels from the inside or outside.

In the larger image above, and as noted in replys above that and in the articles linked, they arent as big as the image depicts due to the illusion of the background objects. It would be about the size of a praying mantis. If you look carefully, youll see that the upper "spider" is held by the tips of pliers and the hand thats holding that plier is to the right, along with the guys sleeve. I'm not saying its not big as bugs go, but its not lobster size as some of you seem to believe. Lobsterrrrr.... mmmmmmmmm!
