Those sites are really hit or miss. My girlfriend and I have stayed at great places like the NineZero in Boston and some great places here in NYC like the W. hotel and the Hudson. And really cheap too. But other times we would end up in a Holiday Inn or something cause we couldnt find anything else. Its tough unless your travel time is flexible.

what the hell is wrong with a road trip? i'm planning on hitting the montreal jazz fest this year. a hike, but it's an insane party in a crazy town, with a casino near by.

i have a love/hate relationship with expedia. last month when i got to Vegas my buddy and i booked the entire trip through expedia. however, when we got to the hotel in vegas they told us there was no reservation there under our names. we got on the horn with expedia and they blatantly admitted to us they fucked up big time (thats why i hate them). but after we bitched them out for a good 40 minutes they hooked us up with a dope ass suite in the Venatain (an amazing hotel, probably the second nicest on the strip.......for free) and thats why i love them. but if i could give one word of advice, dont trust the online shit.

i went to Jazz Fest 2 years ago, and it rocked. i also went up for the F1 race which was also awesome. Montreal is a great place. The casino is 5 floors or something like that, very nice. The drive is not to bad, just coming home sucks if you are hung over. Lot of hot chicks and stronger beer, all the makings of a great vacation.

I've been using Travelocity (http://www.travelocity.com) lately and it's pretty good. I've heard enough horror stories about Expedia to stay away from them. As far as Orbitz though, I've heard of it, but I've never used or or know anyone who's used it.
