The Armagedon Plan: Nightline Sells Martial Law (http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2004/04/286337.shtml)
On this program Clarke was on to inform elite audiences that they better get used to the idea the Bush Regime will sponsor a cataclysmic event in order to plunge the US under martial law.
Is there any validity to this idea?

I like how the reader comments completely hijacked the original intention of the story.
If you watch nightline, you're an "elitist"? wha?

Of course! The Illuminati, The New World Order, will take it's stronghold the day after a national holiday, for example - the day after thanksgiving. Most men will be home. It will be easier to round up the men and tansport them to camps they'll have set up in Wyoming, Arizona and Pennsylvania. They are breeding an army right now underneath the Denver Airport.
I thought this was common knowledge - did any of you go to sunday school!?

What would Bush gain by plunging the country into martial law?
If he wants supreme power over a nation racked by turmoil and civil unrest, he has his pick of damn-near every country in Africa or South America.
Why destroy this country when he can buy one thats already in bad shape?

My Favorite part:
(in the voice of a satan-like secret society type)
all those naive globalist United Nation-loving, do-goodie commie left-wing, New-World-Order pinkos
no longer have any clue as to my international-banker-backed plans to collapse the economy by buying all the gold and silver bullion and coin and then leaving the rest of you credit-card, debt-ridden mortgaged-to-the-hilt dumb-ass country hicks with no other choice but to work in my old war-buddy family Walmart stores at $5.35 an hour where you can continue to destroy your fellow countryman's jobs by buying from my crony overseas import company and their cheap Chinese-made running shoes and Indian-made computer software. Since you are all now home-schooled and believe that the Earth is only 6000 years old
and that the best readin' writin and rithmetic is none at all
Bravo to whoever wrote it.

I like how the top three current discussions in this forum all have "fuck" in the topic title.

While this is straight out of "the Prince" the website is so skewed that I can't tell what they were actually talking about. Nightline isn't that partisan.
