I know that this is kinda late but I was listining to 1010 wins when the first tower went down, They were talking to reporter when she started to scream "oh my god the tower is falling" she sounded like she was going to cry and kept repeating that it was falling. I felt sick when I heard that and I started to cry.

My friends work in that area I can't get intouch with them.

What are we going to do?

I went to give blood at the Red Cross and there were about 40 people waiting on line. Someone came out and said that they already have more blood than they can process today. They asked us to come back tomorrow or the next day. No one complained.

to answer someone else, the building did in fact withstand the plane crash,which is why they didnt topple, but the structure couldnt withstand the heat from the explosion.

Man With False Pilot's ID Arrested

NEW YORK (AP) - A man who tried to use a false pilot's identification to get past security was arrested Thursday at John F. Kennedy International Airport, and at least five more were detained, police said.

The arrested man had tried to fly to California on Tuesday morning and was carrying a certificate from a Florida flight training school, according to a source familiar with the workings of the airline industry.

Speaking at a briefing about the World Trade Center disaster, Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik said five or six people, some of them Arabs, had been detained Thursday afternoon or evening at the city's airports for questioning by the FBI (news - web sites) and the Joint Terrorist Task Force.

Kerik said it was unclear whether the men detained had any connection to Tuesday's terrorist attacks.

The incidents caused the region's three major airports - Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark, N.J. - to close again just hours after service was restored.

The man who was arrested had been scheduled for an earlier flight on Tuesday bound for Los Angeles, but that flight was canceled after the terrorist attack began on the World Trade Center, the source said.

On Thursday, he tried to board American Airlines Flight 299 bound for San Jose.

Suspicious ticket counter staff alerted a supervisor who notified Port Authority police. Authorities tracked the man through security checks, including metal detectors, and stopped him at the gate.

A short time later, three more men arrived at Kennedy and boarded American Airlines Flight 133 to Los Angeles, according to the industry source.

Minutes later, law enforcement officers secretly boarded the plane using a catering cart, the source said. The officers, with weapons drawn, then removed the three from the plane.

The industry source was unable to account for the two other people police had said were detained.

ABC News reported Thursday night that 10 people in all were detained trying to board flights at JFK and LaGuardia.

Separately, a law enforcement source told the Associated Press that the FBI was investigating an altercation at Kennedy on Tuesday, and trying to understand whether that incident might have been an aborted hijacking attempt.

Tuesday's incident occurred about 9 a.m. - around the same time two hijacked jet airliners crashed into the World Trade Center towers. After passengers had boarded United Airlines Flight 23, bound for Los Angeles, officials told them it had been cancelled.

Three males refused to disembark, and argued with the flight crew, who called airport security. The men vanished before security arrived, the source said.

JFK ran the stern show from 9-11-01. It was surreal to hear them doing the show, and then to listen to it as the events unfolded. I am not a big "stern" fan, but someone should put that show on a cd and sell it for charity, as a first hand encounter of what happened. the reactions were amazing. to here robin, and everyone in disbelief, was weird.

in 2001..the day I realized that we aren't as safe as we felt....the day I found that people do care for one another....the day I found that we can be one.

one year later, 9/11/2001 is just another day to me. 9/11/2006 means more to me...I miss her more than anything.
