I recently upgraded from an old Pentium III with Win98 SE to a new P4 2.8 with WinXP.

In the process of upgrading, I kept the 21" Princeton monitor that I got secondhand from work.

Ever since the upgrade, the image has been "unstable" on the monitor. It's definitely not the monitor, but I'm having issues trying to get XP to properly ID the monitor and use the right driver. As of right now, it's idenitifying it as a "Plug and Play" monitor, and using the basic driver.

Any suggestions?

What resolution are you running? I had problems trying to hook an XP box up to a really old monitor. Anything below 1024x768 could be a problem.

If that doesn't work, see if you can find a website for your Monitor and get XP drivers.

check your refresh rate. You can get there by right clicking on the desktop and the selecting properties. from there go to setting tab, the click advanced. i think it is the third tab over should be moinitor. change your refresh rate. it may be to high, try to change it to 60. then you can work your way up from there.
