...and GOD DAMN I am sore after that 2 1/2 hour practice. ONe co-worker had me running out fly ball after fly balls because I seemed to be in his hitting zone.
10 straight minutes of running from one side of left field to the other. I wanted to kill him!
Anyway...Shoulders, Legs and back are sore as hell. But at least it is better now then after my 1st game.
16 game season, and after the practice we had looks like we will be 0-16. But with alot of beer to sooth us we'll live!
Thank god for the one RonFez.net has....I know I am not the worst one on THAT team. (But close to)

Well game one was (barely) out of the way.
And my companys team...well let's just say it was a mercy killing by GOD.
In the 5th the thunderstorms rolled in BIG time, effectively ending the game. Of course they called it right as the game became official, they COULD have done it sooner, now the record states our team got SLAUGHTERED 13-1. Yours truely was the catcher (and PROPS to those people who do it, tough position)
I only got 2 at bats and also had a throwing error.(God I suck)
Of course we could have made a showing later in the game if it had continued but I guess we will never know now.
And we were playing a bunch of bartenders too....next up is monday and the Landscapers.
Or as I would call it...the mexican league. (JUST KIDDING!)

played another game yesterday and lost 14-8 to the SEABASS...

they had some heavy hitters and (i think my coach don't like me cause he put me at 3rd)

Well Game 4 totaly sucked because it was a forefit. Including myself only 7 people showed up. Which sucks because we have over 20 guys on the roster. What is up with that shit??? It's not like these games are last minute.
So we played a scrub game...the other team loaned us 3 players and we had to cut the game short by two innings so we only lost 10-7. Too bad it was not for real.
If we had more of our guys show up we most likely would have FINISHED the damn game in time and also won our 1st! This reallly sucks. I know it is for fun and all but...
ON a brighter note I seem to be getting better at catching.

we won, the score? couldn't tell ya. name of the other team? couldn't tell ya

I however had a suck-ass performance. 1-3 and reached base twice.
Yeeeuk.
Although we are most definately doing better...we were down 8-5 going into the last inning...rallyed to score 4 runs and won the game 9-8.
Because of Crips we had the 10 man field instead of the minimum 9 man and it was easier for us to play defensively! THANKS CRIPS! Next game is next week on Weds. and Thurs. Back to back night. now THIS will be interesting.

Last weeks game got rained out. we played today and it was a good game. we won 14 to 13. They scored one in the bottom of the 7th but that was it.

Their pitcher was a 'big time' manager on the Wall Street Journal side. He is probably in his late 50's but a good ball player. I hit him in the leg with a line drive during batting practice and it didn't phase him. He hit the ball hard as well. It was nice weather and overall a nice game.

I played 3rd again and some guy tried coming in hard but i stood my ground after taking the throw and he went "DOWN"... and rolled over a few times. Another guy came in and our legs collided somehow, it felt like his knee or foot banged me in the shin. It actually smarted a bit but 'he was out'...

ps: does anybody give a crap?

Jocefus and his buddy sat with us and I think Crippler stood near us, JerryTaker, Nellie, Snoogs and his buddy, and another man, tall thin, heckuva nice guy and i feel crappy cause i forget his board name(might've been a superhero name) or his real name.
Yep, Justice, Jerry, Nellie, & I were stuck in the corner in a window cut-out for the broadcast, but right up front, so it was nice. And as an added bonus, we got to meet the FUNK-Wo-MAN! Such a sweetheart. I'm a socially anxious, bordering on socially retarded, introvert...but the FUNK Family has an ability to make someone feel so at ease that even I had no problem chatting in comfort with Mr. & Mrs. Funk.

Not to mention, there are a lot of women who would absolutely not have made that trip with their hubby/boyfriend/etc. to watch a live broadcast of a radio show & a mini-concert. You've got yourself quite a catch, Funker!

Ok well Crippler and I tried to stop the bleeding that is my softball team yesterday, but it was a futile effort.
We just outright SUCKED. And it also did not help that we were short players again. I was 0-3 and reached on an error. God I suck.
Plus my back is killing me, mostly from cleaning my place all weekend.
Egads I suck.
I better do well tonight or I might consider retirement.

Scored 10 runs in 3 innings. And we were up 10-4 by the 4th.
And then promptly blew it and lost 14-10.
I was 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 RBI.
And the ump made some REALLY shitty calls with his strike zone and the infield ump called one of our guys out when he was CLEARLY safe. (The 2nd baseman dropped the F'n ball)
Anyway...we still have a problem getting people together for our games. We BARELY made 9 people.

Well that's it....we had to forefit the game on tuesday because only half the team showed up. Most of them thought there was no game because of how much rain we got in the early part of the day. With 2 forefits we have to drop out of the league unless we want to pay another entry fee to finish out, which no one is going to do anymore.
