I bet they get $200,000 each per year. I guess they were offered 250 in Florida to do mornings.

Monsterone is the king.
Is it advisable to spread out all the conveniences of culture before people to whom a few steps up a stair to a library is a sufficient deterrent from reading?

Ron and Fez care. they were offered more money to do a show in Florida obviously.
You would not take more money to do a different job? Of course you would.

i just quit a job, to move to a job that i will undoubtedly be making less money and have no health insurance, well i will be if i find a new job to move to.
Its the second time i'm leaving one job and moving to a job that i'd be making considerably less money.

9Pix...not wanting to bust balls, but I know someone else will bring it up that this was a thread that was buried earlier in the year...

That said, it was tough to find again, so it was easy to miss. And after rereading what I wrote, I'm going to make mad speculation that I was too high before, and your number might be closer - simply based on the recent behavior of WJFK towards them.
Hopefully the new contract will get them the respect they deserve.

I have sort of the mind set of service, where money, while obviously a huge factor, shouldn't be the only factor. Especially if you are some place where you are feeling disrespected, underappreciated and overworked. I have personally spent about 11 years working for non-profit organizations making what amounts to volunteer salary, when compared to the average for my age and location, because I believed in the work.
These days I'm making a lot of money doing stuff I love, however it's contract work, so it's not secure, and I have to scramble for my own benefits.
ANyway...I do not believe there has been an official offer from Florida. I do not believe that one can be made or even heard by R&F and their agent while they are still under contract (I could be WAY wrong here). I also believe that $50K more a year would not be enough to get R&F out of DC.
I wouldn't be surprised if a station in FL was interested and let it be known that when their contract expired that they would be willing to talk with R&F, but (and maybe I'm being a Pollyana here, I don't know) I have to believe that, as bad as things seem here, they are still better than returning to Florida in this fashion.
* They are getting more and more listeners
* There is real possibility of syndication from Infinity
* JFK has shown a willingness with shows to let them grow and find their audience; more secure, that way
* They both have purchased homes in the area - would Ron want to put his children through finding new schools again - ESPECIALLY in Florida, which has one of the worst records on funding for education in the country?!
* While not NY, they have settled into the area pretty well, and are close enough that they can visit their friends and buddies up there, and vice versa.
* As shitty as WJFK might be, it is still one of the top talk stations in the country; it's in a top 7 market (if you combine Washington and Baltimore together, suddenly we're top 3 or 4); they have the potential to get far bigger and better ratings here than they have ever gotten - if I remember, Tampa is 27th in the market.
* Who will watch after J Dubbs and El Jefe? Only R&F seem to know how to properly feed and water the lads.
As I have said before, they will do what they feel they need to do, and it might be Florida, which would suck for me, but I would be happy for them. I am hoping this missive fired off by Don was simply a way to stir things up and hopefully get managment to the table for the boys, much the way the finally did for the Sports Junkies when they were openly courting DC-101 a few years ago, when their contract was up for expiration.
