I'd happily do it again. Brian, you really do need to get a life. If there was a significant amount of support for Ron and Fez from our staff (on-air and off), they would have been given at least a chance to be considered for middays. However, I am far from alone in my feeling that their schtick is not a natural fit for WTKS. I am not denying that they have the ability to draw an audience, they have a heck of a legacy behind them...they're just not the type of show that would work on our radio station.

I think Shannon Burke is much more of a natural fit, he's funny, acerbic, opinionated, and I think he's going to impress a lot of people. Ron and Ron created some amazing radio, but it's just not the same without Diaz.

Now get some help, would ya? Radio's a great thing to have as an interest, but with you I think it borders on an unhealthy obsession.

Doesn't sound to me like he's really trashing the boys at all. It sounds to me that he's simply looking for the best fit for his station. Aint nothin wrong with a station trying to have one voice. WJFK could learn a lot.

He didn't say anything bad about Fez. Fez was the sidekick when the show was Ron and Ron. It's basically the same lament people have about the Stern show now w/o Martling and Billy. Yes, it's the same people, but it's different than it was 5 or 10 years ago.

Rip? From what I'm reading I definitely wouldn't say he ripped on them. He stated his opinion in a professional manner. He feels they wouldn't fit. He may or may not be right, I wouldn't know. But he certainly didn't seem to attack them personally in any way.

i dont know, that guy kinda has a point and I think his email is pretty valid. sure ron & fez can draw an audience, we are a part of that audience, but just because we like it doesnt mean others do. he just doesn't think it would fit, no big deal. also he's not inncorrect in saying some people have a borderline unhealthly obsession with this garbage. its just radio, relax.

I really have a problem with these comments. Diaz never seemed to be funny and was condescending to Ronnie. Meanwhile Fez is an endearing comic genius. Drew claims they wouldn't fit in - but he's really worred that RnF would outclass his in an instant and show him for the ameteur he is.

It's definitely a rip, but it's the typical, paranoid, radio guy rip response. He says RnF are past their prime, that Fez is a stereotype, and, by implication, they don't fit because they're not as good as the rest of the station lineup. I don't think it's professional to slander others but it's stock and trade in radio, with the exception of Ron and Fez. They consistently "take the high road," concerning other shows and their show!

strange.... i havent checked in on the board lately, but i decided to cause i heard something similar on the same station the other day, only it was that dried-up stinky dick licker jim phillups of the phillups file.

his words were much more harsh.

he implied that after diaz left the show went down hill and that the move to daytona was an indicator that they gouldnt garner decent ratings elsewhere.

he continued to say that ron and fez were doing terrible in DC. (i dont know anything about the ratings in DC cause i dont get to listen too often anymore)

anyway... i called in to bust some chops but wasnt alloowed on the air because they felt i was too argumentative (sp?)

all i wanted to ask was if jim phillups had ever held a successfull position in NYC? ... which if im not mistaken is either the number one or two market in the country.

i do listen to the phillups file, but not because i think its a great or funny show, because its neither. but it is the only talk program on that i can stomach in that time slot.

i heard the new guy for the first time today, and he's like the file, only a bit duller.... personally i would prefer that they keep up with the monsters re-plays over this new douchebag.

any which way, i think it was a mistake for them to not consider ron and fez for the spot, they could very easly be syndicated on XM as most of their other shows are on that station. and as for saying that nobody in the public had wanted them back..... thats bullshit. ive heard it many many times on ALL of the shows.

i do know that some of the monsters are big fans of ron and ron and fezzzy too. but i guess they had no pull in it.
