The owners of one of the bars that I tend to hang out in have been talking about selling the place. Supposedly (from the various sources I have there), they have a buyer and were supposed to close in early April. The turnover date keeps getting pushed back and has recently been said to be late in May, now.
I was speaking to the bartender at another bar and she told me that one of the buyers told her the deal fell through. The owners of the other place keep saying that it's still on, though.
I know that when you buy a house, you have to put information in the paper so that anyone who has liens against it is notified. Is there a similar thing for businesses? Is there a way to determine from public records/information whether the deal fell through or not?
