I hate them forms! Theres no way to make heads or tails of it when it comes. Do I owe anything? Did it cover it or not? Why isnt it covered? Those forms come and you have to actually call them for an interpretation of it from the insurance company, but when you call, either they are closed or your going to be holding for over an hour, even if you "fake" a rotary phone call!

just another way 'the man' keeps us down...

When i was in the hospital for 7 days back in 1987 i received several bills for "consultation' from doctors i had never met. I believe they came in my room when i was drugged up and said "Hi, how you doing, bye" and they each billed the insurance for 150.00.

Then i went to have the wires removed from my 'now healed jaw' and there were 4 wires. The doctor only took two out on friday and made me go back monday for the other two. On friday they didn't use any anesthesia as he tugged the wire out of my gums with a plier and when i went back on monday the nurse says "we're gonna give you anesthesia like we did on friday' So you know they billed the insurance for 'anesthesia not given'...

monsterone, all i can say is the Medical bill without errors is the exception, not the rule. there is hope if one keeps close tabs of all the tests and procedures [like that easy when youre unconcious] and go over the bills with a fine toothed comb, and someone who actually knows this stuff can jump in here coz thats all I got.

I know Consumer Reports Magazine is big on the Hospital Med Billing SNAFUs. I'll check that out; they have a website somewhere; gotta look.
