View Full Version : Will there be a US invasion of Cuba?

Even though Cuba, does not pose an imminent threat to the United States, Fidel Castro has been taunting us for the past 45 years. Recently more sanctions have been put on Cuba, and President Bush signed an order limiting trips there. Talks about an invasion has really never been brought up but you sporadically hear on some of these cable news channels almost hinting that its always been in the back of some minds.

I can't think of a better reason to go to war.

That would the most ati-climatic invasion EVER.
And I say Castro can't die quick enough. Then we get rid of the bitchiest political bloc in America...the so-called "Cuban Exiles." They hate other Cubans, they hate the other countries across the ocean around Cuba, and have always looked as themselves as just "temporary" residents of America and not true citizens...and yet THESE are the people nobody has a problem with when they bring up America's immigration issues! I say go ahead with AM-LASH, give Fidel the poison pen, and GOOD RIDDANCE.

When the Joint Chiefs of Staff were urging for an invasion during the Cuban Missile Crisis they had no clue that the Soviets had tactical nuclear missiles on the island and the authority to use them was with the local commanders. Sure. Fuck it. Let's do it.

Fuck it from behind.
The invasion is next thursday... keep it on the q-tip so Fidel doesn't find out.

Actually, we had several B52s loaded with nukes set to air burst at the first sign of a Russian launch because we could have knocked their tactical missiles out of the sky while, in addition, crush Cuba. Sad but true.

Nobody had any confidence in us surviving a missile launch from the USSR during the Cuban Missile Crisis...neither side had the capability to knock ANYONE's missiles out of the sky en masse. A missile launch of all the active missiles in Cuba at the time of the Crisis would have still been guarenteed to knock out at least three or four American cities, even with our defense. Hence the strategic value of planting Soviet missiles off 90 miles away from Florida. If we could have easily knocked out all of their nukes when launched from there, why would we have sweated it in the first place?

We didn't have anything prepared against the launch of Russian missiles from Cuba. The CIA and military reports both clearly state (All available at the National Archives...I strongly reccomend everyone takes a field trip) that the Soviet missiles in Cuba were all still inoperable at the time of Cuban Missile Crisis.
