John McCain speaking about those who attacked the United States: "may God have mercy on their souls, because we won't."

There are no words to describe adequately the enormity of these attacks on the United States or the depravity of these attacks on the United States or the depravity of those who are responsible for them.

Clearly, the organization and magnitude of these attacks required more than a few people to perpetrate. It will take some time to determine who they are, and who has supported their attacks on the United States. But we will find them out, and they will suffer the full, awesome measure of our justice.

Until then, we can only pray for the victims and their families, remain calm, and resolute, confident that America will never be cowed by terrorists, no matter how awful their acts, no matter how depraved their hearts.

These were not just crimes against the United States, they are acts of war. We will prevail in this war, as we have prevailed in the past. May God bless us in this trial, defend us, and make our justice swift and sure.

Well HK, McCain said on the Daily Show that he hasn't ruled out 2004.

I said this on OA.com, but I'll say it again since we all don't go there:

John McCain could've came down to the wire with Bush in the primaries, but a small storm the night before shut down many precincts in South Carolina. Also, he was very popular with Democrats and Independents who were more than willing to cross over to vote for him. But, many state primaries were open only to Republicans.

John McCain has hinted at switching parties, possibly the Reform Party, Jesse Ventura's Independence Party, or even staying Independent.

He has a HUGE following. I would vote for him and I know I'm not alone.

McCain is a good man, and a true American hero, but his fanatical pursuit of campaign finance reform was his undoing. It is still a mystery to me why he thought this was the most pressing issue of the day to the American people.

McCain was outraged that special interest and corporate donations were destroying the election process. Even though it turned the GOP against him, it showed him to be a man of principle. We need more John McCains in Washington, a true American hero.
