I've been up all night because everytime I start to drift off to sleep... ZAP! I twitch like a motherfuck!

I don't understand why it's so bad tonight. I've had to banish myself to the couch because I keep poor skidmark up. great, we're both sleep deprived. Should prove to be an eventful weekend.

Stupid Abilify. Oh well, I'm off to WaWa to get some coffee and watch the sun rise.

Sorry to hear that, Alice. I, too, belong to the ranks of the sleep deprived. I've been suffering from a sleep disorder for years now (PTSD related) and I've tried a zillion different things...medications, booze, therapy etc. I find that the thing that works best is moderate exercise before going to bed!!!

Abilify. Dam, you have schizophrenia? I'm sorry to read that.

Abilify can be used to treat other conditions as well.

<marquee>Sometimes I feel I've got to run away I've got to get away from the pain you drive into the heart of me. The love we share seems to go nowhere. And I've lost my light, for I toss and turn I can't sleep at night<marquee>

Are you describing the following?

You're drifting off to sleep, right at that halfway point between dream and awake, and all of the sudden a massive sudden discharge of electrical energy goes through your system, either waking you up instantly, sometimes after a second, or several secongd; where you feel trapped or smothered or worse, and this 'waking up instantly' can range from a twitch to literally a whole body Grand Mal spasm that launches you upright. And recurrs, meaning, on a bad night, the above can go on for hours?

If so, or for anyone else, welcome to my world. Anyone can PM me or bring it up here. If not; disregard.

If so, It can be Meds, but it can also be many other things.

I have literally shot myself out of bed.

I suffer from depression, not schizophrenia. The Abilify kinda "amps up" the Effexor I'm on. I have to take it early in the day so it doesn't affect my sleep, but sometimes it still does.

I had the Grand Mal spasm and kept waking up skidmark. It's the meds. I'm quite physically "jumpy." If someone brushes me or if, say, something falls off my desk and lands on my lap, I'll jump. I'm very sensitive.
