So it looks like the owner of my condo apartment is selling it and we have to move out in August. That's fine, I'll find a new place. But the realtor bullshit is pissing me off, he's been requesting showings every day (two tommorow) and had an open house on Sunday.

My sisters family is staying with us for a while until their house is ready to move into and she got shit from my landlord the other day, saying (like a bitch) "oh, so you live here now?".

I really don't want to deal with this crap for the next three plus months. It better sell quickly.

I don't know who I hate more-- realtors or lawyers.

I've lived in my apartment for 14 years-- when no realtor wanted to touch this area. Then all the yuppies "discovered" my area of Jersey City so the rents have skyrocketed (to my advantage, but still). Now no one can get an apt around here without going through a realtor.

They're a swarmy bunch.

Hope you find a nice new place! Guess it shows one of the good things about owning is you avoid something like this but on the other hand you're not bustin your hump all the time with all the maintenance and upkeep. This thread made me think of a great book i once read:

When I was looking for an apartment I left my info with a few different realtors in the neighborhood I was looking in. We told them exactly what our budget was and that we only wanted a 2 bedroom. They showed us everything but what we wanted. I thought that by going to a few different places we would get more options but none of them seemed to listen to us and it really pissed me off. How many times do you need to tell them the same shit over and over before they get it? And this one prick realtor kept hitting on my chick. Not cool.

A couple of years ago I was looking to buy a co-op in my area. At the apartment I was looking at, the grandchildren of the woman across the hall came bounding into the apartment. The woman came in to retrieve the kids and was like, "Wow, this apartment is bigger than mine, maybe I should get a bigger apartment." My realtor wound up giving this woman her name and started showing the apartment to her.

The co-op board denied my application. This woman with the aid of MY ex-realtor bought the apartment. It was originally going for $25,000, I got them down to $20,000. This fucking woman got them down to $18,500. Coincidence??? I think not.

I finally got the apartment right above them, but for $26,500.

But, am I bitter? AB-SO-FUCKING-LUTELY!!! Realtors suck!!!
