IF YOU'D UNLOCK THE THREAD THAT IT'S BEING DISCUSSED IN.

if you're locking it for a different reason, maybe you should say that so the thread doesn't keep popping up by newbies who click on these thread links and find another locked thread then click on that link and find all the posts in that thread deleted.

it's a little hard to search for old threads and post in them like wer're "supposed to" when those threads are locked

i know this will get locked but i wasn't sure who to write this too.

I think what you are trying to say, it would be nice when a mod locks a thread to give a brief reason why the thread was locked.

Most of the time it is because people start a new thread when one is already posted on the board. Generally we put a link to the other thread. Sometimes, I know I have forgotten to do so.

Other times we lock or move threads when people post spam posts to get you to come an look at their website. Sorry if they would like a banner they can go see Jeff.

Then there are the threads where people rip into each other viciously. I think we all can take a good ribbing, but when people take it to far we will lock down the thread.

So Kermit, if you have any other questions send me a pm.

well if that does happen then the other thread should be unlocked.

and if it's being locked for a different reason that should be stated, instead of just to keep locking all new threads with that topic since really that first thread with that topic is either 1. locked too or 2. doesn't exsist cause of the bug
