Everyone else is asking for suggestions for places to go on their vacations, thought Id join in the fun. Anyone ever been to San Francisco? What are some good places to visit in the Frisco/Oakland area? Any good restaraunts? So far all I have planned is an Oakland A's Game and a trip to their wax museum...

Theres a bar called the MEL-O-DEE lounge thats right past berkeley it feels like it was time warped from the fifties. Its a great old man bar with really stiff drinks. I'm sorry I don't remember more but thats a good tetstament to the place.

Classy nudie bar: Gold Club. Hardcore club (whorehouse basically): Mitchell Brothers. All the rest of the SF/area clubs are either bikini only or crank skank petting zoos.
Food is not going to be a problem. There are so many chefs in SF that any hole-in-the wall restaurant is going to have decent food. If you go to an expensive restaurant you're basically paying for the embiance. Bad or overpriced restaurants generally just don't survive. The area has huge Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and Indian communities, so I highly reccommend going to those restaurants if you like experimenting with food.

Check out Alcatraz.. it's actually pretty cool. Go down to the piers and have some seafood. Give the Bush-man a dollar. Go down the curviest street in the world. Bring a jacket.. it's always fucking cold over there.

i used to live there. if you are interested, i can give a long list of places and restaurants.
a short list is: coit tower/washington square, walk the marina, the moma (which has a good cafe,) the exploritorium.
for restaurants: slanted door, L'Osteria Del Forno, South Park Cafe, Rose's Cafe, and the best- Cafe at Chez Panisse (the upstairs cafe, not the dowstairs restaurant.)
avoid fishermans wharf- except for the seals, it is all tourist crap
this is just a short list... i can give more if you are interested.
-I'll log off now, and listen to your
response.-

Now this is something the other tour guides won't tell you. In this particular cell-block, Machine Gun Kelly had what we call in the prison system, a "bitch". And one night in a jealous rage Kelly took a make-shift knife or "shiv", and cut out the bitch's eyes. And as if this wasn't enough retribution for Kelly, the next day he and four other inmates took turns pissing into the bitch's ocular cavities. (short pause) This way to the cafeteria!
Go north of town to Muir Woods. That's a cool place.

i went to san francisco with my parental units on febuary break, and it sucked. I liked alcatraz and chinatown though. Did Machine Gun Kelly really do that? And be prepared to walk your balls off there too, the streets are so fucked up. Anyone who builds a city in a place like that is a masachist.
