Great list! It's probably too obvious to add that R&F are on the air there.
* O-R-I-O-L-E-S! - Fan since day one!
Hmmm. The St. Louis Browns moved to Baltimore back in 1954 and became the Orioles. Damn, curtoid. You don't look your age. :)
* The last time I saw THE RAMONES was at Hammerjacks, under the freeway.
I was likely at that same show.
I'd also like to add that The Sound Garden, one of my favorite record stores, is there in Fells Point -- Chock full of relative obscurities and reasonably priced to boot.

Hammerjacks was gone, now it's back but it's not what it was before (a lot like the Bayou). I never made it to a show there, but the new Ottobar has taken it's place to a certain extent.
I was never a big fan of the inner harbor. It's just full of tourists. Fells is where it's at. Federal Hill is a cool place to hang out, too.

I was in Baltimore over the weekend, for the deathmetal festival at The Thunder Dome.
It's really nice, but what's with the fucking cicadas man??? It sounded like a 12 hour house alarm going off. Then when youre driving you have cicada guts all over the windows as they smack off the car.

That's only through the middle of this month. Then they disappear for another 17 years.

Cicadas aren't just a baltimore thing.
The St. Louis Browns moved to Baltimore back in 1954 and became the Orioles..
Actually there was a Baltimore Orioles baseball team that played in 1901 and 1902. Of course they are not the same Orioles as are playing now--actually quite the opposite. The team moved to New York the after 1902 and eventually became the Yankees.
And Curtoid, on your list I think you list you really meant 'Blieve,' hon.

Yeah, yeah. I know.
Turn of the century Orioles - > New York Highlanders - > New York Yankees
And yet I still hate the Yankees.

also alot of panhandling in the city area. I know NY has panhandlers everywhere but anytime I left the club in Baltimore I was being asked for change by a different person.
Some of them got mad when I didnt give them something.

The ones here in Alexandria outside my work sounded like a train last week. It took me a day before I even accepted the fact that it was them.
The Thunderdome is not in the greatest of areas--South Baltimore/Brooklyn. I've only been there once for my buddies Wake Up Cold's record release show, which was not a typical show there. It was fairly under-attended, but then that's usually the case with a hardcore show at a larger club...

weird; ive driven through/past it on 95 at least 100 times, but only visited twice, and those were houses in neighborhoods. Essentially a B-More Virgin here.
:sniff sniff::

Yes, but I wouldn't expect that to happen until they've been able to build up a fan base. Remotes aren't good if no one shows up.

I will be in town for a date with an absolute hottie I met at a certain Swedish Home Furnishings store a few weeks back and what is something cool we can do? I have the Aquarium and Phillips for dinner but what else is there? I want to be somewhat entertaining.
I LOVE Camden Yards and the fact that I could figure out the subway system no problem.

Don't forget the Ouija Board, Baltimore's best invention for communicating with the spirit world!
As of today, it's the best way to get in touch with Ronald Reagan!

"Oz" was also "unofficially" set in or around Baltimore...but explain to me how that ship filled with Chinese immigrants ran aground "nearby!"
I visited the "Homicide" set several times while the show was shooting, and ran into a lot of the cast in the bar they always shot in across the street, The Waterfront, and let me just say this...Belzer THINKS he's a lot funnier than he really is. Managed to snag myself a few free pieces of crew merchandise (t-shirt, mug, ashtray from the office) and a couple shooting scripts.
God, I miss that show.

Let's not forget that the incurable strain of gonorhea originated in Baltimore too.

Another great thing about B'more is that their ghetto spans for miles upon miles. A beautiful site indeed. Go about two blocks from the Inner Harbor and you can get car-side weed service. Honestly, the drug dealers find YOU. Its wonderful.
OH!!!! And don't forget Towson, its like 90% female. Giggity giggity.
