How do you feel when you hear a new warning about pending terror attacks?
Choose one:
1) Nothing, it's all politics used to ensure Bush's relection and drive up gas prices. I flat out don't believe them. I am completely desensitized to the whole thing.
2) I am somewhat concerned, but I don't think about it all day.
3) I think about it all day and I'm a little afraid.
4) I am convinced something will happen soon. I am extremely afraid.
5) I can't even leave the house.

I drive past the Capitol Building and the House office buildings on my way to and from work every day. There's been police stationed around the buildings since 9-11 and the most visible job they do is to keep trucks from driving past those buildings. Every day as I'm approaching the no truck zone I check the traffic around me for trucks. Twice I've slowed trucks approaching the buildings just to make sure they could be stopped. Not that they wouldn't have been stopped anyway. The capitol police waved appreciation both times so I don't think I got in their way or anything.
Other than that I don't think much about what color the chart is from day to day.
I am, however, afraid that there will be attacks attempted between now and the election, the threat being more and more likely as election day approaches.

Being a New Yorker and having worked for the city most of my life, I'm always in Manhattan. I go about my daily life thinking little of terror attacks and such since if I did, I would succumb to the fear and leave. Well, I'm not leaving because NY is my town and I love it here. I feel that I have contributed to this city of mine and I'm not giving up on it. I hope that NY is never again a target for terrorists but alas, I feel this is but a pipe dream and that we still are target number one in their eyes. But none the less....here I stay!!!!!

I notice when something seems a little "off"...or if I'm in downtown DC, or flying somewhere...but other than that, I don't dwell on it.
Right now I'm more concerned with what horrible option choice #5 could be on Jeff's poll.

Same thing at the Pentagon. They're nearing completion of the redesign of Route 110 which runs by the building. The road now goes into part of South Parking, taking traffic away from the building.
And I'm more concerned when there isn't a terror threat. Something is more likely to happen during a lull.

I'm with Reeshy. My office is in Jersey, but I'm 2 minutes from the GWB and a majority of the work I do is in the 5 Boros. If I got too obsessed with the threats, I would never be able to function in my job.
On a side note, if there was to be an attack sometime before the election, how many people do you thihnk would accuse Bush of knowingly allowing it to try and help is re-election? I bet there would be a few.

I, too, work in Manhattan and agree that if you think about it all day long you would definately drive yourself insane. Or at least drive yourself out of the city and very quickly I might add.
I do think about it whenever I am walking through Grand Central Terminal. I'm constantly looking at everyone and everything trying to pick out the terrorist.

That's what sucks about being involved in politics - people.

I live here in the suburbs. Flemington, New Jersey. I don't travel so I dont worry. I am with number 2 however because my brother does go to NJIT (in Newark) and he visits NY all the time, but I really don't think about it at all. Another reason I don't think of it is because the next attack (I think) is most likely going to be west coast. That isn't from any special source or anything just a prediction considering the west coast hasn't been terrorized yet.
