Noisy Toad

I bought another firebellied toad to share the tank with my other one after my firebellied newt died a few weeks ago. Either the new one or the one already in there has taken to chirping in such a way that it sounds like an out of alignment wheel spinning on a noisy axle. Im hoping that one isnt a female and the other is male and I'll end up with a bunch of baby toads. Does anyone know if this sound is a mating sound? So, its been almost a month now and while I havent seen any eggs or tadpoles, the toad keeps making the noise. Im assuming they are both male. Or female.
Also, I got a coupon from petco for 25 crickets and I put them in an old plastic fish bowl with a slice of apple in it and a screen cover, and they are chirping all night long driving me nuts too. I feel like Im sleeping in a swamp sometimes

Have you tried putting them into seperate tanks from each other just to see if the noise stops?

I got rid of the other toad and now its nice and quiet in here. Last night I was on the phone in my bedroom and the toads were making such a racket that the person I was talking to asked me what it was and I realised how loud it was.
