WARNING: THIS IS A QUESTION FOR THOSE WITH ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE ON COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY

I just got a brand new Dell laptop for college, only because it's required. I'm trying to get the system restore to work, but I don't know what to do. It says in the instructions that I had to access the BIOS system by hitting F2 which I did. But then it said to change the first boot device from BIOS to CDROM. The only problem is, I don't know where that option is and I'm having a hard time finding it. If you have the Dell Latitude D600 laptop or something similar or just know what to do, please help me figure out how to get this problem fixed.

WARNING: My response may be dead wrong, but Ive done system restores on different laptops up the ass, and I believe:

-Power on
-As soon as it starts to boot, start tapping the F8 Key

[EDIT: It was F12 on this laptop]

-Prompt will come up; follow it to 'select boot devic' and there should be an option for CD-ROM. Oh, I put the CD-ROM in before power up.

-it asks the standard Qs and gives the standard warnings, and I think you just watch forever as it reimages the drive.

Gonna go try this, will report back.

[EDIT: It worked tapping F12 on powering up; on This laptop a Boot Device Selection was given, up and down arrows to scroll to 'CD-ROM Device']

Thanks a lot. It worked well and it was a lot easier than dealing with tech support.
