This Atlantis cannot be found

The city you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Maybe an unknown civilization, but not Atlantis. Atlantis did not exist. Socrates was the sole Authority on the subject. But he did claim to get the story from an Egyptian priest. Simply a moral teaching.

A "grid of streets" on the seabed at one of the proposed locations of the lost city of Atlantis has been spotted on Google Ocean. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/technology/google/4731313/Google-Ocean-Has-Atlantis-been-found-off-Africa.html)

The network of criss-cross lines is 620 miles off the coast of north west Africa near the Canary Islands on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean.

The perfect rectangle – which is around the size of Wales – was noticed on the search giant's underwater exploration tool by an aeronautical engineer who claims it looks like an "aerial map" of a city.

Looks like there is something there!

I saw an interesting special on National Geographic I think that claimed that the psychic Edgar Cayce (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgar_Cayce#Controversy_and_criticism) claimed that there was a library underneath the Sphinx (http://www.catchpenny.org/chamber.html) that was built by the people of Atlantis which contains all the knowledge they accumulated as well as the location of Atlantis. Apparently, recent excavations determined there IS a chamber of some sort underneath the Sphinx but no full-scale excavation has taken place yet.

QFT... but Egypt's Chief Antiquities Official, Zahi Hawass, rules over the archaeological digs in Egypt like a dictator and is notorious sloooooooow in allowing digs, and when he does, he has to be front and center in the media spotlight.

Meanwhile, 95% of ancient Egypt has yet to be revealed.

According to his account, the city sank beneath the ocean after its residents made a failed effort to conquer Athens around 9000 BC.
