I'm a godmother!

Today I was appointed a godmother by my bro. So now what? I know I have to be there when the child is baptized but is there any other specific role godparents play? I'm her aunt as well so I will already be very present in her life. If you're a godparent what do you do for your godchild?

I was thinking about getting a tattoo of her name maybe as a symbol or something....that's gay isn't it?
