I agree with torture, but at the level and intensity we did it at it was unecessary, how can you do something like that to many of their people and not expect at least a little retaliation. This is also not the WHOLE of Saudi Arabia, it is one little cell IN Saudi Arabia, just because a few assholes want to show America how much they hate us definitely does not mean that the entire country they're from hates us as they do.

I'm too fucking numb, pissed, and upset to get into a political discussion right now, but this comment is 100 percent true. The way I look at it is that we are too deep in this shit now to continue as is.

We have 2 options.

Option 1 is We do the above and get all of our people out of the region, and completely sever all ties. Let's see how far they get with out the American $. We focus on deporting/destroying every potential threat in this country. Not the American way? Fuck it. This is fucking WWIII (and if you don't think so you're either naive or just plain stupid), and its us or them. I think it may be time to give isolationism another try.

Option 2, as so many suggested, is go apeshit in the entire region. May not be the brightest move, considering it can basically lead to global destruction...

Also, do you realize how stupid it sounds to say you agree with our right to torture prisoners, but take issue with the level of intensity? True torture takes place around the world, and is common place in that particular region... sleep depredation and some sexual humilation doesn't even come close to history's or the rest of the world's definition of torture.

There are different methods or torture. The kind we performed was inappropriate, it was for entertainment more than it was for information.

Because the prisoners tortured were in Iraq does not mean that they were all Iraqi. Besides, we did invade Afghanistan (where Al-Queda was located) and we did kill a good number of those, that being the case, why is retaliation ruled out?

I am not trying to justify anything they have done I am merely basing a theory on WHY they have done it.

The point I am trying to make is that those saying that we should level Saudi Arabia are ignorant to the fact that the people in Saudi Arabia are the same type of people here. Just because OUR troops showed anger towards the Iraqis in inappropriate manners does not mean everyone in America feels hatred towards Iraqis, just as Saudi Arabia does not feel hatred toward America that a few of their own people carried out.

1. This is not happening in a Vaccum, it's happening in response to our continued occupation in Iraq, with no real results.

This is only ONE example of injustice in the world that was turned around. BUT IF EVERYONE WHO FEELS THEY ARE BEING MISTREATED STARTS BLOWING THEMSELVES UP ON BUSES OR DECAPTIATING INNOCENT PEOPLE, THEY MUST PAY FOR IT AND THEIR ISSUE OR "REASON" SHOULD BE COMPLETELY DISREGARDED UNTIL THEY LEARN HOW TO BE HUMAN.
